Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
This was good. I will try to reduce the calories next time I make it by using some of the suggestions in the comments. I reduced the recipe by half and used and 8x8 glass square pan. I made the pretzel crust and the cream cheese topping the night before. I stored both separately in the fridge over night. In the morning I prepared the fruit/jello mixture (after defrosting berries.). I allowed this to chill for 45 minutes. Meanwhile I spread the cream cheese layer on the crust then chilled again. I added the berry mixture, covered and chilled for four hours. It was delicious, if a little too sweet, and sliced perfectly.

Pearl Barley Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2014
I really enjoy this and have made it several times. Like the others have said you can add any veggies you like to change the flavor. I also use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
These were pretty good. I would have liked them to be spicier. I did freeze them first. They took quite a long time to cook in the oven. I added more breadcrumbs according to one of the reviews, but I wish I hadn't because I found the burgers to be very bland. I didn't squeeze out the veggie mixture because it was all taking too long. I will keep trying this to hone my recipe. It's a good recipe to get you started if you've never made them before, like me.

Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
So tasty. I love the spice mixture in this dish. Only used 1T of butter and 1T olive oil.I used raw cider vinegar, about 3/4 cup. I added one half onion thinly sliced and waited to add the apples after cooking cabbage/onion mixture for about 8-10 minutes then just cooked about 5- 10 minutes longer. I like it al dente. I didn't use any water.

Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
This was very good and easy to make. It's very nutty tasting. I wish the topping was a bit crisper. My food processor made it very fine in texture. I would add 1T more butter next time I make it.
