About this Cook
I like the creative process of cooking. I love cooking for people, parties, etc. I use to prepare the menu and meals for church related events.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite food is Italian followed by seafood. A combination of both would be great. What I like to do is try to duplicate recipes of things I have eaten out in restaurants.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess that would be the holiday feasts, i.e., Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I think it goes with loving to cook for a lot of people.
My cooking triumphs
I consider anytime I try a new recipe and my husbands loves it as a triumph. But once for a church retreat I made chili and it was a great hit, they were licking the bowls and everyone who got there late and did not get to taste it were told they really missed out.
My cooking tragedies
I pretty much do okay, but I do remember the first time I tried to make gravy from scratch and couldn't figure out why it wasn't brown but was instead this white gooey mess. Called my mother and found out I needed to make sure the flour mixture browned before I added the water. Duh!

Candied Yams
Great recipe, hit at my christmas meal. I usually don't make because of the effort. This was effortless and it all disappeared.

Southern Pecan Pie I
We love this recipe. My first time making this pie. Never liked pecan pie because too sweet. But this one is just the right combination. I made this for my husand and his coworker who were clamering for this pie since November. I made it for the holidays and have had to make it again and again because they love it. Easy and great tasting. Even I like it.
