Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
I thought this was very, very good. I only gave it 4 stars because my daughter and hubby thought it was bland and my son and I loved it. I used skinless kielbasa. I did as other reviewers mentioned and sauteed the sausage in worsterchire sauce first. I then removed from skillet, added some fresh minced garlic and sauteed the onions and potatoes for a few minutes then added the green beans (I used canned). After 5 minutes I combined all in the dish, added a packet of Zesty Italian seasoning, covered and baked 45 minutes, removed the foil and baked an additional 15 minutes. Sooo easy and soo good!!

Smothered Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
We thought these were okay. They were a little bland even with using seasoning salt and pepper. It made a nice gray but it still was bland. The gravy was great over mashed potatoes. Will make again but will need to jazz it up a bit.

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I don't know what I could have done different as I followed the recipe to a 'T.' It was horrible. The sauce was runny and I even tried to thicken with cornstarch. It had no flavor at all. It was fork tender after cooking on high for 4 hours but what a waste on a nice pork tenderloin. Hubby ended up eating a frozen tv dinner and me and the kids had cereal :(

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
One of my favorite sandwich recipes I have found. I do substitue 1/2 c. less sodium soy sauce with 1/2 c. regular and I use half beef broth and half water. We add some provolone cheese, stick it on the buns and broil. Love it!

Very easy and very tasty recipe. I find chicken and pork to be very bland but love how good this ends up tasting.

I thought this was pretty good overall. I was out of flour so I wasn't ablet to coat, dredge and brown. Will definitely make again.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
These were terrible. I did exactly as the recipe stated and they looked like bland chicken so I put them under the broiler so they would get crisp and browned but they had NO flavor.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
Terrible. I have made these twice-once before using original recipe and again following others advice of using 1/2 ketchup, 1/2 BBQ sauce. Sauce was thin but worse than that was the taste. Very sweet and tasted like ketchup. Will not try again.

This was good, but not great in my book. It seemed like it was missing something.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Very good! My hubby and I loved it but next time he would prefer it without the tomatoes. I also added 1 T worsterchire sauce. I will definitely make again.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
AWESOME! I love peanut butter and this pie hits the spot without being overly sweet. I prepared just as the recipe is written and used 1 graham cracker crust and one chocoate crust. The chocolate crust is much better! I also topped with crushed peanut butter Oreo cookies. It was a huge hit!

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I gave this recipe 4 stars because of the changes I made to it. With the changes I would give it 5 stars! I followed another reviewer and cooked it on the stove top. I browned some bacon and onion first but then removed the bacon and transferred the drippings and onions to a stockpot. I used 3 cans of diced potatoes and 2 cups of chicken broth. I cooked that over medium-low heat for about 45 minutes. I omitted the water after other reviews stated it was too thin. I mixed the flour, evaporated milk and 1 cup of heavy cream instead of half and half. I cooked for an additional 30 minutes. It cooked down to a nice thick, creamy soup. You can even mash the potatoes if you want more smooth. Garnish with cheese, chives and bacon. DELISH!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I gave this 1 star because it did turn out very tender and just fell apart. However, I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong but it had no flavor. Maybe because I used fat free french? I'm not sure but my husband wouldn't eat it and my kids wouldn't touch it. Thanks anyway!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
Great recipe! This is one that will be my staple chili recipe. The only changes I made was I omitted green pepper and celery and used diced tomatoes in its own juice instead of tomato juice. I cooked it for Halloween last night and got rave reviews! I even had the recipe requested!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
These were sooo good! I made directly as instruced with just a couple of minor alterations. The icing calls for 3T of milk which made a really thick consistency. I used 5T and it was still thick and did not "drizzle" well. I ended up adding a dash of cinnamon to the icing and iced the cookies instead of drizzling. They were soft and very good! They were gone in a day. This recipe is a keeper!

I thought this cake was just "okay". I tend to like my Texas Sheet Cake more brownie like in texture and this was definitely more cake. I'll stick with my mom's recipe. Thanks anyway!
