Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
Super Yummy Delicious. I don't think it's too spicy at all.
I omitted the tabasco, and used only one chili pepper. I added extra green and red peppers.
I also added 1/2 cup of water, when it cooks for 2 hours and is left to stand, the consistency ends up perfect!
What made mine extra good:
using hot italian sausage
one teaspoon of red chili paste
one teaspoon spicy brown mustard
one teaspoon of CLOVES!!! The cloves addition is superb.
What I recommend doing is first brown the meat in sautee pan or wok, save half of the grease, in the soup pot that you will be making the chili, warm the grease from the meat, sautee the onions and garlic for 3 minutes, then add the veggies and worcestershire and a bit of olive oil, sautee all together for 5 minutes or so. Then add the beer, water, and all of the other ingredients (spices last).
I've made it twice now, and this time forgot to add the sugar and bacon bits. (The first time I fried bacon and crumbled it in). I can barely taste the difference.
I serve over elbow noodles with lots of sharp cheddar on top and extra fritos on the side!
