Peanut Butter Mini Muffins

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
I made these as the recipe is written and they were really good. I'm not sure why so many people say there is no peanut butter taste.....I think next time I would up the peanut butter to 1 cup and use half peanut butter chips half chocolate chips, but they are peanutty as the recipe is written. A quick and tasty recipe that you can bake on a Saturday morning with your kids!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I doubled the sauce ingredients except for the soy sauce and it was delicious! I also dredged the chicken in cornstarch before I sauteed it, so the sauce became a nice consistency. The only thing I'll change next time is adding more garlic. I'll never use store bought sauce again for my stirfrys!

Chocolate Chip Mini-Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
I just finished making these with my 3 year old son. It was easy enough that he did most of the prep and mixing! These are fun to make and to eat! I followed the recipe exactly and they were perfect.

Jalapeno Popper Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
YUM!!!! This is our new favorite chicken!! I added bacon bits and some garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture just like when I make jalapeno poppers. I used boneless skinless thighs because that's what we like, and it was absolutely amazing! Thank-you so much for this recipe!

Cheesecake Pops

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
I made key lime cheesecake pops for my husband for his birthday. It was quite messy and I was worried they wouldn't turn out, but after a couple of hours in the freezer, they were so easy to decorate! I dipped them in white chocolate and did graham crackers, coconut and fresh raspberries for my toppings. This is a great way to present cheesecake in a fun and new way!! Both kids and adults go crazy for it!! Thanks for the idea!

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
sooooooo much better than whipped topping with 15 different ingredients you can't pronounce!! cream and sugar - it doesn't get any better than that!!! I cooled my bowl and mixer spoons in the fridge for a while before I started whipping. no more store bought whipped topping for us anymore!

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
yum! I made these last night for a group of friends served alongside some homemade whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries, bananas and Nutella, and everyone loved them! I used 3 whole eggs and whipped up the batter in my Magic Bullet. this recipe is a keeper!

Hot Cross Buns I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
I think this is a good starter recipe, but it needs some more spice to be like a true hot cross bun. next time I make this I would add more cinnamon (2 tsp), some ginger (3/4 tsp), a bit of nutmeg (1/4 tsp) and definitely more fruit - I did 3/4 cup of a mix of raisins, cranberries and blueberries - next time I'd add more like a cup and a half. I think a bit of orange or lime zest would really get this recips up to 5 stars!! Worth a try for sure.

Carrot Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
I didn't find this bread to have a lot of flavour - neither banana nor carrot. It was ok.....I think maybe it would be better with some raisins. I do like the idea of adding grated carrots to banana bread to make it more healthy-like. I'll probably try this recipe again when I have some carrots to use up!

Crispy Chipotle Lime Tilapia with Cool Avocado Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
I didn't really enjoy this recipe....I think it would have been better without the tortilla chip breading. the flavour of the chips just didn't work right, it was very heavy and seemed to overpower the fish. I think that it would be better using only the spices as a rub and leaving out the breading. Also, I altered the sauce a bit - I just made a lime flavoured tartar sauce. I really liked that and would make it again with a chipotle rubbed pan fried fish.

I didn't make this myself, but I just ate a piece that my co-worker made and it's fantastic!!! we were both curious about the low baking temp and freezing method.....as unorthodoxed as it seems, it works!! I can't wait to make this myself so my hubby can have a piece.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
I used this recipe to make my son's 3rd birthday cake. I added a 1/2 cup of milk and a 1/2 tsp of salt and baked it in a 9x13 pan. it turned out perfect! I don't agree that it has a cornbread texture....mine was light and fluffy. I did beat it really well with my mixer, so maybe that helped. this is a great simple recipe. thanks for it! so much better than out of a box!

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
these are the best! it takes a little time and effort to prep the jalapenos, but it's totally worth it in the end! I only boiled mine for a few minutes to soften them up a little - next time I think I'll leave that step out because they weren't spicy enough! I also added a bit of garlic powder and parsley to the cream cheese mix. I will definitely make these again!!

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
I would have given this 5 stars, but the directions are all wrong! You must dissolve cornstarch in a COLD liquid (same goes if you were thickening a gravy, you would dissolve it in cold water, then add it to your hot sauce - then voila! it's thick!). Next time I'll use a little less sugar and use real vanilla beans, but this was fantastic as is! I'll never use store bought again!

Orange Snowman

This was like an orange creamsicle in a glass! I cut out a bit of the sugar and added a bit more vanilla. My 2 year old would have drank the whole pitcher if I let him! Thanks for the yummy idea!

No-Fuss Cinnamon Cheesecake

This is a great recipe if you're looking for a different kind of cheesecake. The top gets almost crunchy from the butter/sugar/cinnamon combo. Yum! Thanks for sharing!
