Raisin Sour Cream Bars

I have been wanting to make this for a long time and finally did last night. I soooo wish I had read the reviews first, however. I baked them for the 20 minutes the recipe calls for, then left them out overnight to cool. This morning when I went to serve them to my employees at work, it was nothing but raw mush. Great-smelling, but raw. Considering it had eggs in it, we thought it best not to chance it. Next time I'll definitely bake it for the 35-40 minutes others suggested. And I definitely will make it again; smelled too amazing not to!

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

This was pretty good. A tiny bit too "vinegary" for my taste, but based on the other reviews that is probably just me. I'm more the sauteed mushroom kind of guy when it comes to filet mignon. However, I was very pleased how perfectly cooked the meat turned out in following this recipe.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Served these as an appetizer at a dinner party. They were gone in seconds. Absolutely delicious. Like others suggested, I used a mini muffin tin to hold the mushrooms stable. Worked out perfectly.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

This is an absolutely delicious recipe. However, the bread crumb and Parmesan amounts are excessive. Even after breading all 4 chops I hadn't used even a fourth of the mix. I would cut it at least in half.

Capers and Halibut

Tasty dish but be aware "medium high heat" is a relative term. On my stove that proved far too hot. I patted the fish dry before cooking but the olive oil still spattered everywhere and the fish cooked too rapidly. Will make it again but at a bit lower temp. This is basically a "piccata" recipe for fish, minus the lemon. If you like chicken or veal piccata, you'll love this.

Authentic Thousand Island Dressing

This recipe is absolutely delicious. Brought it to Thanksgiving dinner and my family went nuts over it. HOWEVER, be forewarned...if you follow the recipe as written you end up with almost a half gallon of dressing. Perfect if you're making it for a church potluck or something but it's far more than I could ever use before it goes bad. May want to cut the recipe in half if you have a small household.
