Chicken Noodle Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
Good concept. I like the noodles and the flexibility with the vegetables. The addition of the flavor packet from the ramen noodles made this dish incredibly salty (I only added half of it as I spilled it all over the counter when I snipped it open). Next time I will add chicken broth with a little cornstarch. I love salty foods and this was over the top for me.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
Very good, but an awful color. I used a rotisserie chicken as others suggested (although I really like canned chicken! Don't laugh..It makes a terrific chicken salad) I think next time I will sprinkle toasted sliced almond over the top rather than the cheese.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
A terrific everyday dish! With the exception of boiling the pasta, I made everything early in the day. I made the sauce, sauteed the chicken (which I cut into bite sized pieces as others had suggested)added it to the sauce, put the pot in the icebox and forgot about it until dinner. I reheated it slowly, served it over angel hair and a side dish of sauteed spinach. A very easy and delicious recipe. Thank you for sharing!

Tropical Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
My husband particularly liked these and he is a food snob. I made the sauce as directed, used more onion and braised it in a 350 oven for an hour. Braising is my prefered method for pork so it doesn't turn to cardboard. Moist, delicious and good flavor. A very good recipe that may be tweaked to your taste, but is terrific as it is.

Wine Soaked Mushrooms

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Very good! There are just two of us so I made 1/2 lb. mushrooms. I followed others' advice and used 1 cup wine and 1 cup broth. The rest I followed as written. I did add a blop of butter to the finished product. My preference. Thank you, Harry! One of the best recipes I have tried on this site!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
This was very good. I did half parmesan and half seasoned bread crumbs. I also used dijon mustard to coat the legs (brushed on with a pastry brush)as I find egg too thick. This is great! Very easy to put together at the last minute.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
Oh, Dear. Here we go again. Bland, bland, bland. I am beginning to not trust the recipes or the reviews on this site. I only try the 5 star recipes and one after another has been disappointing. And, yes, I am an experienced cook. This is a decent base recipe. It needs some real juicing up in the spice department. Next time I would use a much smaller tortilla, chipotles and maybe 2 Tbs. taco seasoning (I used about 2 tsp). Then top it with shredded iceberg lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. The sauce is very thick. Thin with more milk or better yet low sodium chicken broth.

Pork Chops Deluxe

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
A very good basic recipe. I feel it needs some herbs to deepen the flavor. Other than that, it works well and is fast and very easy.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
Very good. I halved the recipe as there are only three of us. I simmered it one hour (everything was already cooked) and added the wild rice during the last half hour so it wouldn't "blow up" as wild rice can do. I only added enough half and half to make it look creamy, and toasted the almonds and sprinkled them on top to serve so they wouldn't disappear into it. It came out more like a stew. The curry powder and sherry are key. Good depth of flavor. This is worth trying.

BLT Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
This was fine. No raves from my BLT loving family. Be judicious with the garlic powder.I love garlic, but I only added 1/2 a tsp. and the garlic powder flavor stuck with me for hours.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
Oh,my. This is awful. After reading many of the reviews, and growing confident (with reservations)of the recipe I tried it. Twice. Horrors! The first time I made it I followed the recipe to the letter. The second time I made some slight alterations.

Port And Mushroom Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
A very good recipe. I used dried tarragon and added a dash of heavy cream to the sauce. Forgot entirely about the parsley. I recommend this. Thanks, Carol.

Carne Adovada

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2004
I thought this needed more flavor. The suggestion of 6 Tbs. of chile powder rather than 4 might be worthwhile, but my family and I weren't so enamored with this that I would make it again.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
I made this last night. I used many suggestions that others had recommended and had good results, but I ended up with much less liquid for gravy than I expected from reading the reviews. I added one package of gravy mix (Knorr Roasted Pork) and had to add quite a bit of water to get a decent amount of sauce at the right consistency for three people. My husband and non-pork eating daughter liked it very much.
