German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
Great cake! I only made a couple alterations to the filling: I used 1/2 C. evaporated milk and 1/2 C. condensed milk - and used 1/2 C. brown sugar, 1/2 C. white sugar - AS AND AS A SUGGESTION - Try adding maraschino cherries cut into halves to put ontop of cake before drizzling chocolate over the top! DELICIOUS!

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2005
This recipe isn't bad, just isn't anything to get really excited about. I use to have another recipe for cranberry brad that was fantastic, and thought this might be as good, but it's not. I also use dried cranberries when I don't have fresh ones on hand.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
Beautiful , chewy, sweet and delicious! These are to DIE for! I'm replacing my old recipe with this one! I like the grounded oats in it because (in my oppinion) it makes the cookie a perfect medium between "oatmeal" cookies and original "chocolate chip" cookies. It's the best of both worlds! I can't believe how well they present themselves too. If at first you don't succeed when making these, then try again - because these recipe is PERFECTION!!!

as stated by another reviewer: needs pepper, but no salt. This is good for how quick and simple it is to make.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: May 25, 2005
To the previous reviewers: Are you not greasing your pans?? My cakes FLEW out of their pans! While making this recipe, I must admit I made a terrible mistake. After putting the batter into the pans, then placing them into the oven for 5 minutes, I realized I forgot to add veg. oil! DOH! I must have been distracted by my boyfriend while mixing! So I rushed back to the kitchen and tried to mix the oil into the already 5-minute baked batter. Turned out GREAT even with that mistake! I can be VERY judgemental when it comes to how people bake, and I think half of the bad reviews on all recipes are from people who don't know what they are doing! So I think this cake deserves more credit for how simple it is. It might not be "the best cake ever" but it's great if you don't have all the ingredients to make a complicated delicious cake!

There was nothing great about this recipe. I used it for a few pies, and I hated it.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2005
BLAND!!! NO FLAVOR!! Doesn't deserve 5 stars by itself! Like someone else said - most people who gave this recipe 5 stars ALTERED the recipe! Not fair! Anyways - I've tried altering it by adding spice, vanilla, etc - but it's still missing something. If you are looking for a really delicious mouth-watering banana bread, you should pass on this one. My boyfriend really liked it, but I can't figure out if he's just really hungry or trying to be nice - ha! PS - I did used very over-ripe banana's, and tried using wheat flour. I will try this recipe again to fix it, since it does have some potential...i will try tossing in some blueberries.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2005
THIS IS THE BEST CINNAMON ROLLS RECIPE! I can't believe how great these turned out! I didn't change a thing, this recipe is perfect AS IS. I even went back to the "clone" recipe, and tried using it's icing as others did, but I thought it was too sweet. I enjoyed the icing for this recipe. I also tried putting extra pudding mix as others did, and it came out too soft and mushy. DON'T SKIP THIS RECIPE! IF IT TURNED OUT BAD, YOU MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Ok - I apologize for ever even tweeking with this recipe before even trying it just as directed. I read reviews and tried others "tips" first and they all RUINED it! If you follow this recipe to the T it will be perfect! I made this recipe for a friend as a birthday treat, and after taking a "sample" cookie, I didn't want to part with them!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2005
How is this recipe getting 5 stars??? I had to modify this recipe a few times and STILL didn't "go crazy" over them. Tried adding spice, and changed the temperature, plus tried throwing the dough in the fridge, ETC. I just have to go with a whole other recipe - Sorry! Tastless and not a real good chewyness... Two stars is generous.

Best oatmeal cookie I've found yet - & believe me I've been looking! If you follow the directions correctly and not over cook them they are PERFECT! These have the right texture I was looking for... I only added a teaspoon of cinnamon, and one cup of chocolate chips.

Sunshine Toast

We use to call this recipe 'Egg in a Frame'. Very simple and fun...children love this idea. I use to break the yolk and fry it, so it was an egg and toast on the go.

Very delicious and rich...oozes chocolate when they are fresh from the over, and later become a soft inside/crunchy outside cookie. I followed this recipe to the T and didn't see any reason to expirement with it. This will cure even the worst chocolate craving. If you loooove chocolate, these are for you!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
These are fabulous cookies! I made them with my niece, and they came out wonderful. I had my first snickerdoodle at a coffee shop, and wanted to make my own. These are better than the ones in the cafe! My boyfriend brought a dozen to work with him and shared them with his co-workers - they all thought they were store bought and asked where they could buy them ; )

Excellent Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
Let me explain why this recipe only gets two stars. First of all, a 5 star recipe doesn't need any modifications.. and to me this recipe needed a few changes, like extra flour. The cookies were not chewy as promised. I was looking for something new, and this recipe was not it. This recipe is not AWFUL, but not great.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
extra zucchini is the KEY to making this the best zucchini bread on allrecipes. however, i made a couple modifications.. adding brown sugar instead of all white sugar. i can't imagine a zucchini bread recipe without brown sugar. i love my zucchinni bread sweet and extra moist. i also added more cinnamon, and a touch of clove because i do that with my own recipe. this recipe is the same as mine pretty much, just it doesn't use brown sugar. great recipe.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2004
WATERY. Great flavor, crust is insanely good ontop... my bottom crust came out soggy due to how watery the filling was. I added extra cornstarch to this recipe after reading the reviews and it didn't help at all! I will give this recipe another try only because of the reviews. Perhaps I made a mistake or need to do some more tweaking.
