About this Cook
I live in Rosenberg, TX and I am passionate about food and love to cook for my husband (who isn't a bad cook himself). We like to experiment with different flavors and spice blends from all origins. If you asked me about my favorite types of food, the list of foods I don't like would be shorter. My favorite things to cook are my pot roast, my husband's favorite turkey meatloaf, potato salad and anything having to do with a holiday or weekend Bar-B-Que. With a busy life and unpredictable meal schedules, it's not always easy to prepare the best meal but usually the most convenient. That is why, anytime I have a chance to be with friends and family, I love cooking a great meal, having a good time and enjoying each other.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything. Breads, cookies, pies, cakes, pot roasts, greens, mac and cheese, chicken and the list goes on and on. See my recipes listed on the site and tell me what you think.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, we had holiday meal traditions for every holiday. On New years it was always black eye peas, fried potatoes and pork. On Easter, it was always a roasted ham. During the summer, most weekends consisted of a burger and hot dog. Thanksgiving always had the Turkey, dressing and a definite must have, broccoli, cheese rice casserole - oh, and the monkey bread! Christmas Eve, ALWAYS a mexican pile-on with tacos, nachos, Granny's cheese enchiladas and on Christmas Day, Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh man, I sure am hungry!

Restaurant-Style Potato Salad
I've made this several times now when feeding a crowd of people. I have found that it is the safest for everyone's taste buds. Sometimes I use dill pickle relish and it still tastes great. I always get asked which restaurant this came from. You can't go wrong with this recipe!!

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes
I just made this recipe tonight. It was super delicious but I didn't have any sour cream and I didn't want to have to go to the store in the rain...I eliminated it and it was still great. I did add some garlic, onion and parsley and it was divine. I made fresh and probably would eat leftover but wouldn't serve to any dinner guests that way. Overall, great recipe. Thanks for sharing!
