Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

This was truly delicious! I substituted fresh chopped garlic for the garlic powder and lowered the temp a bit. I had a 5 pound roast so I dropped the temp to 325 and cooked it for about an hour. (Until the temp reached 135), then I rested it while I made the gravy and mashed the potatoes. This roast produced one of the best gravies I've ever made. I cooked it on a rack in a shallow baking pan and put a can of beef broth and a couple of bay leaves underneath it. While the beef rested I strained the broth into a butter roux. (The broth had concentrated and it was a little salty so I added about 1/2 cup of water.) The resulting gravy was delicious. I'll definitely use this rub again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Shish Tawook Grilled Chicken

Wow this was delicious! I was out of peppers, so I used onions, mushroom halves and tomato wedges, and served them with a pile of fresh naan, (I used this recipe and cooked it in cast iron on the stove top. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/naan/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=naan&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page). Instead of firing up the grill, I cooked them under the broiler for about 5 minutes a side. The spice mix and seasoning were out of this world good, and it all came together pretty easily. Will definitely make this again.

Garlic Chicken Fragrant Rice On a Budget

This was easy and surprisingly delicious! I made a few changes based on what I had on hand. I used two cups of rice and three cups of chicken stock that I had leftover from a batch of Hainanese chicken rice. I skipped the olive oil but used four chicken thighs. I put in about five minutes of work and then closed the lid and pushed a button. 25 minutes later I fed my family a delicious dinner. Thanks for a great recipe!

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

Herbed Chicken Omelet

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

These were delicious! I had to lower the heat a little bit on mine, but I was cooking on an ancient electric stove. I added a little cheese and garlic to the mix, and I also added a little butter to the cooking oil. Thanks very much for a great recipe!

Homesteader Cornbread

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This was perfect cornbread. Nicely sweet and rich, the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of chili. I only had 1/2 cup of buttermilk on hand, so I made up the difference with 2% and added an extra 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, but the texture was just right. Thanks for a great recipe!

Tom and Jerry Batter

This tastes just like the stuff I drank as a kid in northern Wisconsin. Thanks so much for the recipe. I made a rookie mistake and didn't check the number of servings before I started separating eggs. Be aware, this recipe makes about six pints worth of the stuff. I'll be sending guests home with the leftovers. :)

Naan

A delicious recipe. The dough was smooth and lovely to work with. I cooked them over a medium heat in a cast iron pan. Next time I will follow another reviewers suggestion to mix the garlic into the melted butter for a more uniform garlic flavor, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. We wrapped Shish Tawook (made from this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/shish-tawook-grilled-chicken/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=shish+kabob&e8=Quick+Search&event10=1&e7=Home+Page ) in this bread and devoured it. I can't wait to try this on the grill.

Pasta with Gorgonzola and Sweet Onion

This is delicious! I was short an onion, so I added a little bit of agave nectar to make up the sweetness. I served it over tortellini with a sprinkle of parmesan and a lot of black pepper. Next time I'll try the arugula that was suggested earlier. That sounds lovely.

Whipped Cream Cheese

I used two 8 oz packages of cream cheese and only two tablespoons of milk. Once it was combined I whipped it on high in my kitchenaid for a minute or so and the results were light, fluffy and delicious. It is very easy to spread and makes a little bit of cream cheese go a long way. Thanks!

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Delicious wings! I was out of molasses, so I left it out. Also, I added a sprinkle of five spice powder and a drizzle of sesame oil. I started them the day before I needed them and let them marinade overnight so they really soaked up the flavors. I will definitely make these again.

Best Bread Machine Bread

This was a wonderful easy recipe, even in my ancient bread machine. I substituted 2 1/4 teaspoons of quick acting yeast for the bread flour yeast and unsalted butter for the oil, and the bread is delicious! Can't wait to try some of the variations listed here.
