Funnel Cakes IV

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
Wow! That came out great! Now, I do wish I had added Vanilla to it... I also followed the reveiws and cut the flour back. I didn't have a funnel, so I used a ziploc back. Otherwise, this was great! A must-keep.

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2013
Well, I followed the directions of others first, and then it turned out perfect!! Sadly, I didn't heed the warning of it being too sweet...But I still like the pudding! Next time, I need to really taste it when it's cooking to adjust the sugar amount.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
Wow, I just love this recipe!!!! I've made it three times, but once it came out wrong... I think because I accidently killed the baking soda (make sure you follow the recipe EXACTLY)... Otherwise, like the title, they are the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies ever!!!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
Oh my gosh! I forgot to review this wonderful recipe every time I used it, and I'm finally going to do it. The first time I tried making the crust, I was confused about how to to go about the directions. Until I learned that this was best made using about two tablespoons of sugar, mixed in with the flour and salt of course, and smashing the shortening into the mixture. I find it a little easier to use lukewarm water instead of ice water, it helps the chilled shortening to soften up. Add a little more flour if the mix starts to get stuck to your hands, or whatever you're using. The overall taste of the crust is amazing, and I use it in all of my pies now! It's amazingly better, and cheaper than store-bought. The texture is exactly as the title says: Flaky. If you want a better taste, try using butter-flavored shortening. Oh, and a very good hint is to sandwich the dough between wax paper(it's almost necessary).

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 24, 2013
Two things. For one, I know what I did wrong, and that was not having enough butter... SO the rolls came out good, but not the amazingly awesome taste i wanted. For two, even with the extra butter, it wouldn't quite be," A clone of a Cinnabon. " Though, I do like the rolls, not abad. I would reccomend cooking at 375 for about 20-25 minutes though, my rolls came out a little raw in the middle!

Fortune Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
When I tried these for the first time, mine came out all cakey in the middle, and way too sweet, only the edges were good. Next time, I might have to follow the reviewers comments.

Golden Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2013
I am really not sure what happened... I followed the directions to a T, but my filling just did not turn out. I usually bake apple and cherry pies, and this one time I decided to try a pecan pie. The crust and the top were beautiful, and I felt so proud of myself when I took it out... I let it cool down completely before cutting into it, but when I did take the knife to it, a whole syrupy mess just came out! I thought it looked funny when the filling was a little too runny... But you know, the taste was impeccable. Great taste.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
It's wasn't a great sauce, but it was certainly very decent. I served this with some Ravioli I had made.

Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2014
This was a nice base recipe. It was ridiculously thin at first, and had no taste. I added 2 tsp. of Vanilla extract, 2 tsp. of cinnamon, and about 3/4 cup more of the rising flour. Quite good, after all that.
