Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
Pretty good... I used chicken stock instead of water and reduced the chili powder to 1tsp (instead of 2tsp) for personal taste. I didn't have celery seed so I used celery salt instead of reg salt. My husband didn't ask me to make it again, but it was quick and easy.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I added bacon and some italian seasoning, since I was taking them to an italian themed dinner. They were really good, but I didn't get absolute rave reviews. Though in all fairness, I think my family might just prefer a bread crumb stuffed mushroom.

Awesome Broccoli Marinara

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I added a little bacon with the garlic at the start. I used diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano & added a splash (tbs) of balsamic vinegar. It smelled great at this point. I reduced the tomatoes and put the broccoili on top. I had to use a stock pot to hold the broccoli, I doubled the recipe to take to my sisters. By the time the broccoli on top starting turning bright green the bottom broccoli had turned brown (not burnt). When I got to my sisters, 30 minutes later, all of it was brown. So - I would definitely not recommend this for a traveling dish. If my husband hadn't turned his nose up at the tomato/broccoli combo I might make again, just not as a pot luck dish...

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
My husband gave this 4 stars, but still said Boboli & Pizza Hut were better. It was very bready. I tend to like my crust a little more crisp/chewy. It was very quick, which was great. And for those of you interested - I used a pizza stone...

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2006
Chile sauce is actually closer to ketchup in flavor, rather than picante or taco sauce. You can find it on the ketchup isle, next to the cocktail sauce. That said, I didn't have any on hand - so I substituted 1/4 ketchup mixed with 1/4 picante. I used brown rice - took 1 hr 15min to cook, which I expected. Overall not than great, my husband asked me not to make it again -- although in all fairness I wasn't true to the recipe... I also didn't care for the texture of chopped cilantro on the top (and we love cilantro). I have a feeling using chile sauce, rather than picante, make a big differnce.

Addictive Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
The ingredients sound a bit strange but it works! I left out the cream cheese, only because I realized I was out at the last minute, but it was still really good. It tasted a little like those french fried onions you put on green bean casserole. I will definitely make again (with cream cheese the next time).
