About this Cook
Im on to my 14th year married to my husband and best friend. Mom to 2 bright kids. I have a 6yr old male cat and a 12 week old kitten. Life is pretty busy for me, but I always make time for the little things
My favorite things to cook
I love baking but Im terrible at it right now. I can make things that are edible, but my family would rather I didnt, so thats why Im here :) To learn!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I can make an excellent Turkey dinner, but other than that, pretty much everything I make usually comes from a box or a restuarant.
My cooking triumphs
I made scalloped potatoes from a recipe I found on this site. My husband thought it wasnt awful. Thats a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Too many cooking tragedies to name. One recent one that comes to mind are scones that ended up as large cookies. Oh well, try try again...

Basic Corn Muffins
I made this tonight and took some of the instructions indicated. I added 2 eggs, and mixed 2/3 cup sour cream and 1/4 cup milk, and cut the sugar to 2/3 cup. It was very moist and fluffy with a golden crust on the top. Delicious!!

Best Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce
I made this tonight, and my kids WOW'd loud!! I made it as written in the recipe with the exception of the Vanilla sauce - I added a bit more vanilla extract based on my taste preference. Otherwise this was soft, sweet and just a lovely dessert :) Two thumbs up for this one!

Apple Scones
I made these tonight, and it was quick and easy, and tasted not too bad. The kids ate it :) I would have loved it to be sweeter with a more apple flavour, but Im sure that will come with practice. the dough was too soft to knead, so I scooped a large table spoon portion and pressed it slightly. It came out perfect in our opinion (good luck to me trying to replicate it twice) But If you try it once and it doesnt come out right...try, try again :) Its a great recipe. Thanks for sharing!
