Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

This recipe is good. It's even better when you add your own personal touch. Like others, I used diced tomatoes & beef broth, then added Worcester sauce, garlic, & a small onion. I used flank steak instead of ground beef (I was cleaning out my freezer). I served corn bread on the side.

My Hoppin' John

LOVED THIS RECIPE!!! I didn't have a ham bone, but, being a Southern girl that didn't deter me. I boiled smoked turkey necks until the meat separated from the bones. Removed the bones and skin & shredded the meat & added it to the peas. I used 2 cups of the liquid from the turkey necks (and only 2 cups of water), to add more flavor. I strained & rinsed a can of petite diced tomatoes and added them after the peas were finished cooking. DELICIOUS!!!

Moroccan Tagine

YUMMMMMY!!! I took advice from several reviews & this what I came up with: 3x the coriander, 3x the garlic, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon & cumin. I only used 1/2 the chick peas, they really have no purpose in the over all flavor of this dish.

Golden Potato Soup

DELICIOUS!!!! I made this for the family on a very cold day. It was an instant hit! I substituted real bacon bits for the ham, used sharp cheddar cheese, & added 4oz. of sour cream when I took the pot off the heat. It was like having a baked potato in a bowl!!!
