Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2004
A very good chicken recipe. Easy and very tasty. Be sure to watch your cooking time. The chicken pieces I used were medium size - I cooked them for 30 mins and after adding an additional 5 mins on to melt the cheese - the chicken was a little dry. I'll cut down the cooking time by about 5 mins next time.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Delicious! I have used both cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup. Both taste great. I have passed this recipe along to many friends and family members - everyone raves about it.

Spicy Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
What a great salad! I'm not sure why it's called 'spicy' but it's the best strawberry salad recipe I've come across. Be sure to whisk or beat the dressing thoroughly - the sugar doesn't dissolve properly if not mixed well. The dressing tastes even better the second day. Thanks for a great recipe :)

Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
My family loved this soup. I also used 3 boneless salmon filets instead of canned salmon. The taste of creamed corn was quite strong but that added to the flavor. A hearty and delicious soup - thanks for posting the recipe.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
I had such hight hopes for this recipe but was sadly disappointed. I was surprised. I enjoy mustard but found the flavor overpowering in this dish. The chicken was tender - cooked just right but I'm afraid that's the only positive I can offer. :)

Cousin David's Slow Cooker Brisket

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2004
Not a bad recipe. I had a hard time finding 'brisket' that wasn't frozen and 7lbs! My butcher suggested an alternative - beef tip. I will cook it for a maximum of 8 hours next time - 9 hours tended to be a bit dry. I also added fresh mushrooms as an earlier review suggested. The sauce was tasty and I plan on using it with a different cut of meat next time (roast perhaps.)

Potato Salad I

Tasty potatoe salad. Everyone at our Canada Day Party enjoyed it. My grocery store was out of green peppers so I used sweet red peppers instead.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I love rice pudding but have not been succesful making it until I tried this recipe. I suggest using 2% milk - I've tried skim and 1% and it's not as good. I also use jasmine rice which adds a nice extra flavor.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
A great dessert. My kids (3yrs and 6 yrs)loved it. Cooking it made the whole kitchen smell delicious. I think I will double the recipe next time as this made a very small portion for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2005
What an excellent recipe. It was quick, easy and very tasty. The soya sauce, balsamic vinegar and butter sauce did not overpower the taste of the asparagus. I would never have baked this vegetable on a baking sheet until I tried this recipe. Great idea.

Chicken, Feta Cheese, and Sun-Dried Tomato Wraps

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2005
I really enjoyed the taste of this wrap. The flavor was wonderful. I made it exactly as the recipe indicated and found it wasn't quite enough to feed 3 adults. For dinner, we had one wrap each and two of us felt we could have easily shared another one. I would increase my ingredients next time to 6 servings to feed 4 people. Thanks for posting this recipe!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
These brownies had been baking for 15 minutes when I realized I had forgotten to add the baking soda. I cooked them for the entire 30 mins but was prepared to throw them out. After they cooled my kids tried and loved them. I found the texture a bit funny. I can't wait to try this recipe with all the ingredients :)

English Roast Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
I'm not always successful when I attempt to make a roast. I'm glad to say this roast turned out awesome. I was a bit wary of the mint but it ended up adding a really nice flavor to the meat and gravy. I think I'll try it without the clove of garlic next time. Thanks for the recipe.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
Great cookies. I thought the dough was WAY too soft to make good cookies. I was wrong. The cookies were soft and delicious. Be sure to let them cool completely once out of the oven or they will fall part in your hands.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
Delicious. What a great recipe. I don't have a good track record with baking and this turned out perfect. Don't let the crumbly texture after you have added the sour cream mixture to the dry ingredients scare you. I just pressed it together a bit before turning it out on the counter and then kneeded it as the recipe instructs. We served them warm with butter. They took approximately 20 mins to brown in my oven. We put the leftovers in an airtight container and they tasted great the next day.

Chocolate Coconut Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
These bars deserve a better rating than 3 for their taste. They were pretty good. I was a bit disappointed because they looked pretty plain and I had a hard time getting them out of my baking dish. Mind you - that didn't stop my family from gobbling them up.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
This recipe was good. I don't know if it called for pork chops with the bone in or not. I used 6 chops (medium thickness) without a bone. I cooked them for 6 hour on low in the slow cooker. I don't know what I did wrong but they were a bit dry. My kids ate them so I will more than likely make these again.
