Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
Quick meal to put together! Because you brown the mets before putting it in the crockpot, it really doesn't take long at all to cook so it's probably not ideal to out in for a whole day while I'm at work. As other reviews suggested, I added the pepper strips in about the last 45 minutes and was pleased with the turn-out and it made for excellent leftovers the next day. We served it over rice.

Cranberry Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
Following suggestions of others, I zested an orange and let the flavones mingle for several hours. At the end I gave it a quick shot under the broiler, and it really was a nice change to chicken. Next time I may try Catalina dressing, and I think using one packet of soup mix was adequate.

Calico Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
With suggestions from others, I added the ketchup and these were delicious!! They spent a few hours in my crock pot, and leftovers will not last long in the fridge.

Mediterranean Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
I loved this recipe! I made it tonight with parmesan-crusted halibut, and it was a great dinner combo. I will definitely be making this again. And again. And again.

American Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
I have never had much luck with making potato salad, until this one. It's now officially on my husbands "feel free to obligate the wife to bring this to a summer gathering" list and I know I won't screw it up. Flavorful and easy.

Pepperoni Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
This recipe was okay but not amazing. Still keeping the recipe in case I feel a little sassy and want to jazz it up a bit the next time. I think it's a good base with potential, but it just didn't knock my socks off. Yet.

Pasta Pancetta

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
I made this recipe because I had the ingredients on hand. WOW! The first bite was okay, the second was better but left me with that "Something is missing. . . " feeling. The third bite was better, and there was hardly any left by the end of it. I think it could be easily jazzed up a bit if you added a few thinly sliced brussels sprouts, peas, or red peppers to it but that doesn't take from it being very tasty as it is. Thank you for the addition to our "Must Make Again" recipe folder.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

This is a great use for left-over mashed potatoes and is a great comfort food. We usually have one on hand in the freezer. Thank you for a simple, pleasing recipe.

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I made these for Christmas Eve appetizers with family over, and I made some with goat cheese, some with blue cheese, and others with no cheese. All were delicious, and they do well for reheated leftovers for a quick snack. Very tasty---they went quicker than other appetizers that we had out. A keeper!

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
Although a little time-consuming, this was a keeper of a recipe. My first ever attempt at French Onion Soup, and if I'm being honest, it was the red wine that lured me in to try this. You can't go wrong with red wine as an ingredient, right? It is helpful to know that a non-stick pan does not work for this, otherwise I followed the recipe without exception or substitutions and would not change a thing about it. It was fantastic and I will be making this again in the future. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Orange Herb Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
This was a great recipe! I followed suggestions to use the zest of two oranges and mixed it with the butter and fresh herbs (any leftover herb butter would be great on salmon the next day). I will most definitely keep and use this recipe again!
