This was actually quite good, but must have looked unappetizing because hardly anyone tried it. This would be better at a dinner where you are the sole provider of desserts, rather than at a potluck. If it's the only option, people will try it and like it. If not, it may get skipped over. Oh well, more for me to take home and eat!

Raspberry Trifle

I made this for a New Year's party. It was a big hit! I made a few changes due to lack of ingredients on hand, but I think it would have been just fine as written. My changes were to use a prepared yellow cake mix, mixed berries sweetened with a bit of sugar, and grated dark chocolate instead of cocoa. My tip would be to make sure the cream cheese is good and soft, or folding in the cream will be a challenge. Also, this is very simple, but it does take awhile to put together, so start plenty early.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

This was a really big hit at our Thanksgiving table. The only change I made was to peel and boil the sweet potatoes like regular potatoes. This seemed a lot easier to me than what the recipe suggests. I made this the day before, then baked it just before dinner. I was afraid this would affect the topping somehow, but it was great!

Apple Orchard Punch

Fresh Broccoli Salad

While this recipe is tasty as is, I like to make it with craisins rather than raisins, and sunflower seeds rather than almonds. It tastes great, and it looks kind of festive for a Christmas potluck.

Chickeny Chickeny Rice

My family loves this--it makes a nice side dish for BBQ, and it adds so much more to the meal than just plain old rice. Whoever it was that said it turned black before they got it in the oven was NOT following instructions, because this was super easy to make!

Chicken and Corn Chili

Wonderful recipe! It was a little thick, as others have mentioned. So I threw in a little tomato sauce and cut back on the chicken. I think I added more beans too.
