Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Tender, and smelled great while cooking, but INCREDIBLY bland. I made a gravy from the juice/drippings which made it tolerable, but I will not make this again.

Easy Brownie Shortcake Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
This was pretty delicious. I only used strawberries because the kiwis weren't ripe enough. And I probably doubled the amount of Cool Whip in the sour cream mixture. It just didn't look like it was going to go very far without something more. I also took the reccommendation of another reviewer and baked the brownie in two rounds so I wouldn't have to cut it. It was super duper easy, and pretty delicious!

Baked Havarti Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
We quite liked this. The only change is that I used plain havarti rather than dill, just because it's what I had. The flavors are really nice together.

High Altitude Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
These are really good and soft, but maybe a tiny bit sweeter than I like. Also, I only had a little more than half a bag of milk chocolate chips, and I thought that was perfect. They stored really well, and were still very soft the next day.

Hillary Clinton's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
I didn't have shortening so I used butter, so my review may not really count for anything. In any case, the dough tasted phenomenal and I had really high hopes, but they cooked up flat and terrible. Total waste of ingredients. I didn't cook up all the dough yet. I may tinker with it to see if it is salvageable.

Too sweet for my taste. Some people quite liked it, but I don't think I'll make again.

Divine Chicken with Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This is a delicious way to use those fresh summer green beans. I made it twice, the first time as written. The second time, I added 1/2 cup chicken broth while sauteing the chicken, which made it a lot more moist and flavorful. It also made the sauce too runny in the end. Next time, I think I will add just a few tablespoons of broth.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This is the perfect way to prepare asparagus. I had never baked it before, and I don't think I will ever go back to steaming/boiling/etc. The sauce is just right, too.

Strawberry Freezer Jam

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
Too sweet for my taste, but easy to make. I love freezer jam way more than jar jam, so I'm willing to give this another try with less sugar.

Onion Chicken in Balsamic Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This was just okay for me, but my husband loved it. My only changes were to use 2 large breasts cut into strips, to do the whole thing in an oven-safe skillet so I didn't have to transfer to a casserole, and then to thicken the sauce a bit with cornstarch. I served over pasta. I thought the vinegar was overwhelming, but I might try again with less.

Dill Sour Cream Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I tried this because I'm not really a fan of traditional potato salad, but I should have listened to other reviewers--quite bland! At the very least, it needs more salt.

Super duper bland and boring as written. Needs a lot of work to make it delicious.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Not bad, but I don't think I'll make it again. Too peppery and too thick for my personal taste.

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
This was a big hit at our harvest party, with adults and kids alike. I didn't use microwave popcorn, but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly.

Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
These are pretty good for how easy they are to make. Good with walnut, too. My one suggestion is to refrigerate before cutting, or the crust will kind of fall apart.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
These are simple and delicious. I like to mix the dry ingredients and place them in a bag with the instructions on how to prepare them. Then I give them as Christmas gifts along with a homemade jar of jam.
