Coq au Vin alla Italiana

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2005
Oh So Good! I followed the recipe to the letter and it is fantastic. My husband and kids loved it. They ate several slices of bread just to sop up the gravy. This is a keeper and will be a regular meal for my family.

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: May 19, 2005
Good recipe. I too reduced the amount of cheese and added garlic powder, fresh rosemary and thyme. I also baked the legs on a rack to prevent the bottom of them from getting soggy.

Spanish Rice Original

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
I have been looking for a good Spanish rice recipe and my search is over. Love the flavor of the bacon. This rice goes great with Kiki's Borracho (Drunken) Beans (recipe on this site).

Kiki's Borracho (Drunken) Beans

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
Awesome Beans! I made a double batch for a Tex-Mex party and everyone raved about them. I left the beer out because I didn't have one and the beans were great. I think that it is very important to use a good quality chicken stock. It adds so much flavor. I paired these beans with Spanish Rice Original (recipe on this site) and all I can say is YUM!

Quick and Easy Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
Pretty good for a quick and easy bread. My husband and kids liked it as well. To prevent crumbling, cut the bread in thick slices while it is still hot. Leftovers are good toasted.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
Very tastey recipe. I also reduced the amount of honey and butter to 1/4 cup. Other people commented that 4 teaspoons of curry seemed too much. I think that it depends on the type of curry powder you use. I use red curry powder which is a little stronger than yellow curry powder and used 2 1/2 teaspoons. I also took other's suggestions and added a pinch of cumin. Nice touch. I paired the chicken with Jeera Fried Rice (recipe on this site) and it was very good. This recipe is a keeper.

Candy Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
Very good. I recommend following the recipe to the letter. I used 6 cups of pecans, 2 egg whites and 3/4 cup of brown sugar in my first batch and baked them on a larger sheet pan. They did not come out nearly as good as the second batch using 4 cups of pecans and the recommended ingredients. I presented these pecans with Melt In Your Mouth Toffee (recipe on this site)in holiday tins for my neighbors. Everyone asked for the recipes.

Cheese Straws

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
Very good as a party appetizer with cocktails or everyday snack. My kids love having "homemade Goldfish. for thier snack" Very important that the cheese is at room temperature for it to cream easily. I tried using a piping bag and star tip, but dough was too thick and wouldn't come out. Will try using a cookie press next time.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
Very good recipe. I sauteed chicken breasts chucks with half of a tablespoon of garlic ginger paste, salt and pepper until browned then slow simmered it with the sauce. I also omitted the cornstarch because the sauce was plenty thick without it. I will definitely make this again.

Blue Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
This is the best blue cheese dip that I have ever had. I made this for a party and served it with corn chips. My guests could not pull themselves away fom it. I used leftover dip as a salad dressing for dinner and it was delicious. This dip makes a better salad dressing than any fancy restaurant's. Can't wait to try it with buffalo wings.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2004
This recipe was pretty good and simple. Like others, I added sauted mushrooms after browning the patties and added a can of beef broth to make more gravy. However, I didn't care for the taste of ketchup in the gravy. Next time I make this I will omit the ketchup.

Melt In Your Mouth Toffee

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2004
This was my first attempt to making toffee and it was awesome. I served it at party and everyone raved. This recipe is better than anything you could buy and is so easy to make. I will never buy toffee from the store again.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2004
OH MY!!! This has been the best recipe that I have tried from this website. I only had 1/3 of a cup of tomato-basil feta, so I added grated parmasean to make up the difference. I also pounded my chicken breasts into cutlets, rolled the spinach inside and wrapped the bacon around them securing with a toothpick. AWESOME!
