Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
Was not impressed with this at all, was strangely both too tart and too sweet at the same time. The too tart part could be because it was the first rhubarb of the year here, so am planning on giving this another try later in the year with less sugar, but will make a mini pie just in case.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
This is delicious, super moist and spicy. The first time I made it I stuck to the recipe which was already fab but have since experimented and have settled on double the amount of ginger plus 1/4 tsp each of cardamon, 5 spice and all spice.

Cao Lau

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
This is pretty good. I spent a few months in Hoi An and fell in love with this dish. There are many different versions, no one cao lau recipe, but one thing is for sure, it does not contain rice noodles. I would personally go for soba or udon noodles, both are closer to cao lau noodles. I made as described and thought it lacked a little something, so added some allspice, black pepper and lime juice.

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Super easy and very delicious! I just added a bit of Worchester sauce and did 1 3rd cream and 2 3rds skim milk as I didn't have enough cream. Still found it plenty rich, so will probably do the same next time.

Traditional Osso Buco

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This recipe was extremely easy to follow and tasted great. I followed it to the letter and we all loved it. The meat was super succulent and the sauce was delicious. I agree with other posters that it tastes even better the next day, but it is still the best I have ever tasted when eaten the same day as prepared.

Risotto alla Milanese

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
I have never made risotto from scratch before, but this recipe was extremely easy to follow and turned out perfectly! I left out the marrow, but to me it tasted absolutely delicious and my family and friends loved it too.

World's Best Vegan Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
OMG, colour me impressed! I'm not a vegan, but I'm on a diet and am trying to lower my bloodpressure and cholestorol. I had guests and we had a yearning for pancakes and decided to try these, but were fairly sceptical, but we all loved them. I did add a little bit more milk to the mixture as per the recipe it wasn't mixing well, but that could have been a conversion and calculation mistake on my part. Anyway, they totally taste like regular pancakes and have an identical texture.
