About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
MEAT! Not a fan of fowl, but trying to get around my own issues. I can eat it shredded. VEGGIES are my next fave! Casseroles are my most enjoyable way to eat them, but usually filled with calories so I eat frozen or fresh on weeknights and splurge on the weekends. I have a freezer full of yumminess. I live to cook, but don't want to eat too much at a time. I tend not to like fruit, unless it has fermented and I am drinking it. HEAT!!! My daughter often asks, "Is it tempature hot, or Mommy hot?" I love peppers, Hatch chille (mom lives in NM), habenaro, jalapeno, ghost (only MY burger-not my daughter's).
My cooking triumphs
I can win 9 out of 10 people with my Brussel Sprout Hash. My sister refused to eat them growing up, spent many a night at the dinner table longer than anyone else for her refusal, but she passes along my recipe to people all the time!
My cooking tragedies
Steak. Insert sad face, but don't feel too sorry for me. If I threaten to buy a good piece of meat and try again, I get an offer to go out to a nice steak restaurant.

Oven Fried Okra
Great snack, and I felt guilt free eating the last few okra of the season from my grandma's garden.
