Kentucky Wonder Beans

I was craving green beans and used this recipe. I added about a 1/2 tsp of onion powder to it. Very tasty! This recipe has been added to my recipe box.

BBQ Pork-Stuffed Corn Muffins

Skipped the paper liners and just sprayed the muffin tin. I didn't have Jiffy mix either but found an equivalent substitute from scratch from Chef John. This was a good and easy recipe to fix. I put this in my recipe box to fix again.

Whole Wheat Ginger Snaps

Easy to make, delicious to eat! I switched out the 1-1/2 cups of white sugar for 1 cup brown, 1/2 cup white, and then used turbinado sugar for decoration. I also used a full flavor rather than a mild molasses. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Tommy's Ham Casserole

Delicious way to use up leftover ham. I had everything in my pantry and was able to put this together for a quick weeknight dinner. I added the French's Onion like another reviewer suggested. My husband loved it!

We really enjoyed this recipe. Tasty and easy to make. The garlic was just the right amount for us. We are thinking we might add currants to it next time we make. This is a keeper recipe for our house!

Grilled Lemon Chicken

I didn't have any red bell pepper so I used a little crushed red pepper. That gave it an extra zing and we loved this recipe. I also marinated the chicken for 2 hours rather than 20 minutes. Definitely a keeper!

Apres Ski French Toast

It was a tad on the orangy side for us, but still quite tasty. I think next time (because I will make it again) I will dial back the orange zest to 1 tsp. I used french bread slices, too. Otherwise this was delicious and enjoyable for breakfast.

This has way too much butter and cayenne for us, and I even cut the cayenne in half. It was too spicy. Not impressed with this at all and will not make again.

Easy Cheesy Skillet Chicken

It was just an okay meal. I needed something easy to fix and this definitely fit the bill for that. I substituted milk for the condensed milk and shredded cheddar instead of cheese slices. I also added mushrooms as some other reviewers suggested, plus some frozen peas. I served it over egg noodles. It was decent for a fast dinner, and I'll eat the leftovers for lunch. The dish overall was nothing spectacular though.

Quick Skillet Lasagna

This was a quick and easy recipe. I was able to find the noodles, too. This is also going into rotation for camping meals. Serve it with a tossed salad, make some campfire garlic toast and then you have an awesome and tasty meal.

Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner

I followed the recipe as written except I only had a russet (baking) potato on hand. Thirty minutes cook time was way too long and my potatoes turned to mush. The pork chops were tasty though. I will try this again with a different type of potato and keep a closer eye on the cooking. And I think I will add in carrots like some of the other reviewers suggested.

Turkey Frame Vegetable Soup

I was looking for a recipe to use up 2 fresh turkey legs and found this one. I substituted potatoes for the turnip and parsnips, and used fresh green beans instead of frozen. It was a delicious soup and would definitely make this one again. Thanks!

Unbelievable Chicken

The marinade sounded really good. However, in following grilling directions on the site, our chicken ended up with a burned skin which did not add to the flavor. I may try this again but with lower heat.

Creamy Scalloped Potatoes by Daisy Brand

Delicious! I didn't have Asiago cheese so I substituted cheddar. I also used russet potatoes because I prefer them when baked in a recipe. I scaled the recipe in half since it was dinner for 2, but I did make a little extra cheese sauce. Glad I did, it was just the right amount. Not too dry and potatoes not swimming in sauce. I also added ham chunks. Pre-cooking the potatoes was a key step. They were cooked perfectly! The DH loved it. I would definitely make this recipe again, next time with Asiago cheese. It is enough for at least two meals for us.
