Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
DH and 2 yr old daughter loved it. I added more garlic, I think 2-3 cloves would be perfect. We used basil and it was terrific; we'll try rosemary next time. Great staple recipe, thank you for posting!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
DH made this one; I have only eaten it. As an eater, let me vouch that it is simply wonderful!! Hubs doesn't stray from recipes; he made it as written. ...Well, once he pressed graham crackers & butter into the pie plate, otherwise he uses store-bought). Don't waste your time with Cool whip - top with freshly whipped cream (it's WELL worth it - whipping cream, sugar & a little vanilla to taste, whip until peaks form when you pull out the beaters).

Oatmeal Raisin Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
These were excellent cookies, I made then exactly as the recipe was written. I baked them for 8 mins, they spread perfectly. I let them sit on the cookie sheet for 4-5 mins. Now it's 2 days later and they are still chewy and delicious! Thank you for this recipe!

Campbell's® Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Great base casserole. Definitely needs seasoning - pepper, maybe some Dijon mustard. Hearty, and flavours blend well together. And it was liked by hubby and 2 yr old. Must have the bread crumb topping - it's what makes a good tuna noodle casserole!!

Lasagna Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
We really enjoyed this and would definitely make it again! Two changes - for a lighter version we used cottage cheese in place of ricotta, and we used the oven-ready noodles. We cut into it almost as soon as it came out of the oven and found that it was a little runny - but after about 5 mins it was good to go. VERY delicious. I would also recommend a little more chicken than called for.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
Guaranteed you will enjoy this recipe! This is basically my mother's recipe, doubled. We've had it in our family for over 50 years and it's terrific. In our family we would use 4 egg yolks (not the whole egg), and we add the yolks with sugar and a small amount of cooked milk mixture. That way, the egg gets used to the warmth of the mixture without cooking. Mom always used 2% but I use 1% milk - tasty either way. Glad to read that some of you cooked it in the slow cooker, I'm doing that next time (read: next week)!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
They turned out great; in-laws loved them. I baked them for 10 mins and they were nice - soft & chewy. Really really recommend this recipe! I added a touch of cinnamon - personal taste. Would work well with raisins instead of chocolate chips too.

Cinnamon Sugar Butter Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
This is a great recipe!!! I've made it for years. Funny enough, I went looking for a new recipe for cinnamon sugar cookies, and found this one ... then realized that the only difference between this and my recipe is that I use 1/2 tsp baking soda. If you haven't made them before, you MUST try!!! Delish.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
Yummy, easy, can't go wrong! I made it for Christmas lunch - a little unorthodox (pardon the pun) but it was a hit! Rave reviews from family, and a number of second helpings were had. The onions didn't soften as much as I would have liked. It's possible I chopped them too big. Next time I would soften them stove-top or chop smaller, just to be sure. Our family likes spicy, so I used some chili powder and a little cayenne. You could also add crushed chilis and/or garlic powder - to taste. Really, you can't go wrong!

Apple Snicker Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
Great recipe, we've made it for years and serve it as a dessert. We use vanilla pudding instead, and with a drizzle of caramel ice cream topping the butterscotchy flavour isn't overpowering. As parents we probably won't serve this every day, but we can help our kids learn how to include sweets in a healthy diet - by exposing them to treats from time to time. Thanks for posting!!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
I tried these and they were very yummy. I used all whole wheat flour, no A/P, so they were VERY thick! Not the worst thing; they sucked up the syrup well! However I now know the rule of thumb to use 3/4c whole wheat flour in place of 1cup a/p flour. I didn't use milk powder (didn't miss it) and I used quick cook oats (no grinding was required). Generally, you can't go wrong with pancakes. I would make these again with the right proportions of ww flour. Overall, delish!
