Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2014
this review is only for the cake part of the recipe. the cake turned out delicious! it was moist and fluffy, and not too sweet at all. Like some other reviewers said though, this recipe is actually from the back of the Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder box. i think the next time, i will try substituting the boiling water for coffee.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
delicious, and so simple!! i added 1 can of cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of potato...my husband so it was as good as Marie Calender's frozen pot pies. Oh, for the crust, i used the Pillsbury premade crust in the red box. The top and bottom crust turned out crisp. Will definitely add this to our dinner rotation.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
declicious! i don't add the lemon zest just because i usually don't have that on-hand. everyone in the family loves it...if we were to eat pork chops for dinner every night, this it the recipe i would use each time.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
I just made this for dinner tonight, and it was simply delicious....i guess 1,500+ people can't be wrong. I used 3 medium sized sweet potatoes, which yielded 3 cups (half of this recipe)....i did make the full serving of topping though, and i am so glad i did. The topping is what makes this dish, i think...the pecans were nice and crunchy. i usually make candied yams for Thanksgiving, but my husband says this dish should definitely replace that. Try it...you won't regret it!!

Sweet and Sour Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2014
This recipe was delicious. My 6 and 2 year old both gobbled it up, along with rice and broccoli. I followed the directions exactly, except I used 1/4 cup of Apple cider vinegar. I will definitely add this into our dinner rotation menu.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2014
I've made this recipe at least four times, and it's turned out beautifully every time. I did decrease the amount of sugar to 1/4 cups because the raisins and pineapple juice are sweet. I also used 1/4 cup each of olive oil and applesauce instead of the 3/4 cup of vegetable oil. I leave out the coconut flakes because no one likes that in our family. Oh, and my baking time is usually around 30-40 mins, not the hour the recipe called for, so watch your cooking time! Definitely give this recipe a try...you won't regret it!

Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
this recipe was delicious!! If you can cook pasta, you can make this meal. I substituted the ground beef for pre-cooked chicken meatballs (courtesy of Costo), and i only had mozzarella cheese on hand, so i used that instead of cheddar cheese. I also used the larger jar of spaghetti sauce (24 oz) since my family likes their spaghetti saucy. Quick and easy dinner to make on a school night. My 13 months old ate the spaghetti till his tummy poofed out. :o)

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
Yum! I just have two suggestions. I ended up making a double batch of the chocolate cake part because unless you want to make 24 teensy cupcakes, that's what you'll have to do. It's also a good idea to let the dallop of cream cheese mixture settle for about 10 min before popping the cupcakes into the oven...this way, the cream cheese has time to sink into the center, making the final product look prettier.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
delicious and filling. like other reviewers, i used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 applesauce, and an extra 1/4 cup of flour. the cookies turned out nice and chewy, and stayed that way for a few days afterwards too. will definitely make this again.

Sea Salt Caramel Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
This looked better in the picture. I baked the batter for about 10 min first to prevent the caramel from sinking to the bottom. The idea worked, but the top of the caramel got a bit burnt (making the brownie look unappetizing), and the rest of the caramel that was absorbed into the brownie was just very gooey. I will not make this again.
