Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
love it love it love it! great base... i omit the Italian dressing like many of the other reviewers and make my own marinade. added some tequila (amber patron) to the marinade of oil, lime and spices then served it as an appetizer with 'hint of lime' tortillas in margarita glasses so people could walk around with it at my last dinner party...chic and easy

Graham Cracker Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
i've been making these bars for a while but i know them as 5-star bars from the eagle brand cookbook...the chocolate they ask for in the book is aero bars (4) and i have found that they do work best....great and very very easy

Atomic Canuck Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
love it, love it, love it!...i've made this many times. this chili needs to be hot (the spicier the better), if you try to make it more mild the sweetness dosen't work. you need to contrast the sweet and spicy. my only real change to the recipe is that i omit the baked beans and replace them with lentils, chickpeas, or black beans...mostly for personal taste but i do find that the baked beans can make it a little too sweet

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
great recipe!...i've made these a few times now and always get raves. definitly use vanilla instead of water and more egg white. they have also come out great with some liquer as well...i've used amaretto and frangelico and both were fabulous (i was making them for a cocktail party so they were perfect)

Sesame Wings

Reviewed: May 23, 2004
these were very good wings...a hit at a familt gathering (and i'm a cooking lightweight compared to my culinary inclined aunts). I didn't think that the sesame seeds added anything and could easily be omitted. As well the recipie asked to broil the wings on each side instead of baking then broiling I think this would have burnt them...what I did was to cut down on the preptime once my guest arrived I par-boiled the wings in advance and marinated them overnight then just browned them for a couple of minutes (very quick)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 23, 2004
very very good cookies...the recipie is HUGE though I will probably reduce it next time. I only used about 2/3 of the pudding asked for I think it would have been too sweet otherwise. I made these cookies on a wednesday to serve at a party on a saturday and they were still soft and delicious...a keeper
