My favorite family cooking traditions

Spicy Bean Salsa
love it love it love it! great base... i omit the Italian dressing like many of the other reviewers and make my own marinade. added some tequila (amber patron) to the marinade of oil, lime and spices then served it as an appetizer with 'hint of lime' tortillas in margarita glasses so people could walk around with it at my last dinner party...chic and easy

Graham Cracker Bars
i've been making these bars for a while but i know them as 5-star bars from the eagle brand cookbook...the chocolate they ask for in the book is aero bars (4) and i have found that they do work best....great and very very easy

Atomic Canuck Chili
love it, love it, love it!...i've made this many times. this chili needs to be hot (the spicier the better), if you try to make it more mild the sweetness dosen't work. you need to contrast the sweet and spicy. my only real change to the recipe is that i omit the baked beans and replace them with lentils, chickpeas, or black beans...mostly for personal taste but i do find that the baked beans can make it a little too sweet
