Easy Peanut Blossoms

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2013
I just made these and they came out perfect! The only thing I changed was I had to use Hersheys Nuggets with almonds because that's what I had (leftover bag from Halloween)..I put half nugget into each cookie and it worked great...tastes great too. They are chewy and moist and delicious! and SO easy!I didn't see any need to put back in oven though...as long as you press the chocolate into them while still very warm out of the oven..it melts down into them perfectly. Thanks so much...will use this from now on for my family favorite beloved Peanut Blossoms! Note: they may not look as pretty this way but the almond gives them a little crunch at the last bit and a little different flavor..I like it!! Do they make kisses with almonds? will try that if they do! ;)

Kathy's Southern Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
This is just getting done and it tastes wonderful (and smells awesome!) but mine came out a little watery...maybe I didn't drain corn quite enough? or maybe because I used low fat milk? I don't know, but next time I'll use evaporated milk as someone suggested on here..or half and half, and drain more carefully.or use alittle flour also? It sure is a great recipe though..will try again till I get it perfect because I LOVE me some CORN!! I eat corn on cob everyday! ;)

I just made this today and it is SO wonderful. I stuck exactly to the recipe but used a pork loin roast,(only because I had one in the freezer)the meat melts in your mouth and what a beautiful flavor..I think this will be great with pork chops or any pork. I used Merlot wine..FANTASTIC!

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
This was really messy but fried chicken always is however you make it. It came out really tasty and crispy, and the batter stayed on good. I made it with a family pack of drumsticks in my kettle cooker (deep fryer). I will double the spices in the dry mix next time, but it's a great recipe!

Mama's Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
I just made this to eat with our grilled brisket for the Superbowl game Sunday. I sampled it and it taste wonderful! I made it exactly as written, except added one stalk of chopped celery (because we like it and I needed to use it up)and halved it since there's only two of us. I will have to hide it way in the back of the fridge till then!! lol We will serve it with baked beans & a few hot wings too. Can't wait!! ;)

Roasted Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
I will be making this often! It's so creamy and delicious. I used a large head and so added a little more broth and milk, and the only thing I changed was added about a teaspoon of red pepper flakes. We are from Texas so we like everything a little hot & spicy! ;) Btw,the roasted cauliflower by itself was so good I had to use restrain myself to not eat it before adding to soup!! yum! lol

Robust Garlic Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
We ate this last night and it was the best baked chicken we ever had! The combo of the butter, rosemary, garlic, and lemon was an amazing aroma cooking and the flavor was incredible! I have a convection oven and it cooked it so tender. We had mashed potatoes and green beans with it. YUMMY! Thanks so much for this recipe! I will use it often I'm sure.

Bill Clinton's Lemon Chess Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2012
I made this pie today on Election Day & it was easy & turned out perfect. I used a roll out Pillsbury crust in a 9 inch pie plate & cooked at 350 for 45 minutes, and it was very delicious. I used only one cup sugar (by accident but it tasted great!)& 1/2 cup of lemon (because we like it tart),real butter,& fat free milk. Great easy recipe! Thanks for sharing! (and we LOVE Bill Clinton!!) ; )

Pico de Gallo

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
This is so good, exactly how I made it except I use chopped bell pepper and leave out the garlic, just sprinkle with a dash or two of garlic salt. The cumin is really optional as well. The one item for flavor I would never leave out is the lime juice...that gives it such a great kick. We always keep this made in the fridge & eat it with all kinds of dishes, not all are Mexican food either! It's great on everything.

Dulce de Leche Cake from Duncan Hines®

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
I just finished making this and it is wonderful! I love really moist cakes and I love caramels and this is downright gooey... and so tasty!! YUM! The recipe calls for 8 oz of Half and Half..I think that's a little too much..next time I'll use 5-6 oz...was a little too runny IMO.

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
This is nothing close to fried chicken, but it's SO GOOD!I used olive oil and the results were a wonderful ooey-gooey TASTY chicken so tender and delicious. I could almost eat the bones! I used two huge breast(bone in) and it took a little longer because of their size but it came out perfect. I added a few pepper flakes, garlic powder, and some bread crumbs..otherwise same recipe. AWESOME!

Yogurt Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
I made this with greek yogurt I made myself and it was so moist and delicious..I really liked it a lot. I always put corn, onion and jalapenos in my "cornkit" cornbread anyways...sooo good! I like the idea too of being able to make a simple great bread from scratch, with both my new kitchen toys..my bread machine and yogurt maker! ;) Thanks for sharing!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
This is a very good starter recipe! I had all day to play in the kitchen so I just made a few improvements & changes from stuff I had on hand..after the ground meat onion cooked & drained mix I added a can of Ranch Style beans instead of the ones here, then in addition to the garlic salt I added 2 chopped cloves of fresh garlic,1 tblsp chopped jalepenos,1/2 can corn,2 tblsp green pepper,1/2 jar of Texas-Texas hot sauce,1 tblsp Herdez salsa verde,2 tblsp canned mushrooms,1 pint of chopped tomatoes canned,1/2 cup of prepared pico de gallo(had made already in fridge..for this you could just add some chopped fresh cilantro). Then I put it all in a big crockpot & cooked all day. I made some Mexican cornbread to go with it and served over Fritos corn chips and cheddar/Monterey Jack Cheese on top. It is HEAVENLY!(especially for a Texan like me!)Thanks Deb for the inspiration & ideas!
