Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2013
This is an amazing recipe just as stated. This is NOT pork tenderloin but Pork LOIN. Pork loin is much larger than tenderloin. Those who are stating there are errors in timing do not have the correct meat.

Chicken, Garlic, and Sundried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
Enjoyed by the entire family. The only variations I made were adding a dab of italian seasoning. I made this for my freezer cooking group in bulk, so I cooked all my chicken (thighs) in the crock pot with some of the sauce, including the sundried tomatoes. I diced my tomatoes in the food processor because my kids don't like them, but they had no problem with them diced and cooked a long time. (I don't like them in big, hard chunks either.) I doubled the sauce as some suggested, except the butter. Very, very good. I think it will be enjoyed by all 6 families!

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
These were superb. I took some of the suggestions and added an additional cup of powdered sugar to the icing. Made a depression in the cookie with a soup spoon just after baking, then took a half spoonful of icing and dropped it in while it was still warm. Looked pretty and small effort! I added some extra pumpkin, so it needed to bake a tad bit longer. I removed when it felt firm with my spoon and didn't ooze pumpkin :) Enjoy, these are very good!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Easy recipe, but takes some planning ahead. However, it is the best. Loved by all. Many requests for the recipe and an empty pan to return home with.

Vickie's Beer Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
So very good. I got this recipe from a friend and his recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar. I am surprised this one has so little in the recipe. I can't say I would decrease the sugar... it is wonderful!

Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
Yum. I doubled the recipe and halved the butter (1 stick total) and I think it will be gone in a flash at Bible Study tonight! I did add 4 Tbsp milk for the double recipe as someone else suggested and mixed it in the Cuisenart. Thanks for the suggestions!

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
These are great! I thought I would share what I did with my potato insides too.. I made Baked Potato Soup V with it and it was fabulous. (I probably should share that I made the skins for a group and I tripled the recipe, and it seemed to be about the perfect amount for the soup.) I then cooled the soup and put it in a freezer bag for dinner later on this month. It is also a great recipe and the potatoes were already cooked and bacon already fried (the 2 steps I usually do not enjoy!)

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
I listened to a prior user and added a splash of soy sauce, some garlic cloves and some cilantro and I am having a hard time staying out of it until the gathering! I also saute my raw ramen noodles in a Tbsp of butter before adding to the mix. So very, very good.

Oatmeal with Apples

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I really liked this one! My daughter said it was too salty, but I don't know what she is talking about. DD not a fan of raisins, so I put in walnuts instead. Delicioso! Would be good with brown sugar too, but didn't need it. I don't think it was too sweet. Great warm breakfast.

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
I just made the meat without the veggies and it was delicious. My kids didn't like the flavor but the rest of us ate it up. Very rich meat. I served it with broccoli/ramen noodle cole slaw and it was a great combo! I love how tender it got in the crock pot over about 10 hours on low!!

Sausage-Stuffed Loaf

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
This is a hit with our freezer cooking group. My kids didn't care for the spinach, so I am leaving it out of mine, but my friend wants it to sneak in some veggies into her kids diets. I am currently making 6 of these. They freeze great and reheat easily for a fast dinner. Will be serving spaghetti sauce or marinara on the side for dipping. This is a fast and fancy meal for company dropping in for dinner.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This recipe is incredible. I freeze it as well and pull it out for special occasions or vacations. For those who did not like the cream cheese cubes, I didn't either. I cream the cream cheese with sugar and then spread it in a layer or drop in globs. It was a huge improvement. It also melts. It will be my goto fancy breakfast.

Broccoli and Cauliflower Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
I saw that others thought this was labor intensive, so I made a few changes for simplicity. I cooked the rice and broccoli and mixed them together, then stirred in some French Fried onions and some salt and pepper and spread in the casserole dish. In the same pan, I mixed the soup and milk and poured over the top. Then I just sprinkled some cheddar cheese and baked until bubbly and added more FF onions. (I didn't have crackers on hand.) We all loved it!

Bacon Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
Wow. My very picky 9 year old raved about this one! I was torn between cooking and not cooking so I did both. I cut up the bacon in small pieces so it would be easier to eat and dish out. Next time I will not put the uncooked on and will partially cook all of it. I don't think it made that much difference in flavoring. I also used our favorite BBQ sauce- Sweet Baby Rays instead of honey BBQ. It was a hit with the whole family. Was great with a loaded baked potato. Next time will save some of the cooked bacon for the potatoes too!

Monkey Bread IV

made one loaf pan of chocolate chip and one with cream cheese in the middle. Cream cheese rules. I only put cream cheese in half of the tiny pieces. I also made Creamy Cream cheese frosting to dip it in. Wonderful way to end the sleepover party!

Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2012
I cannot express how much our family enjoyed these with words....but I will try. I was looking for a special veggie to go with my daughter's 16th birthday party dinner, which was a mystery murder meal. I wanted it to be a bit fancy looking, so their plates looked pretty. I bought steamer bags of green beans and steamed them about 3/4 of the way, let them cool and wrapped them in large clumps with a full slice of the Hormel fully cooked bacon. (I had to soften the bacon a few seconds in the microwave.) I didn't change the rest of the recipe, but the changes I made made it so much easier and the bacon was cooked. I had one vegetarian and I just left a pile in the corner for her without bacon. The 16 teens DEVOURED them. It was a nice looking dish of veggies. I do like to impress with food, and this one was impressive. However, I will make these alot...and I will probably just cut the Hormel bacon into bite size pieces and stir it up in the dish. We like good food, so the fancy part isn't always necessary for a fabulous, fast side dish. I also made these a day ahead so all I had to do was put them in the oven the day of the party. Thank you for a great recipe!! Yes, I made a few changes to ease my cooking process, but the recipe is still yours!

Brownie Mallow Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
These are fabulous. I found this recipe on the Betty Crocker website and the only difference I can see is that instead of marshmallows, I used vanilla frosting. I have had some similar with marshmallows and the frosting is much better! It stays very moist and I highly recommend it instead of the marshmallows. The rice krispies get a little stale after day 3, but they really shouldn't have lasted long. I took them to a bunch of dieting women!!
