About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
From-scratch lemon and garlic basting sauce, mickey mouse pancakes, and the ever elusive potatoes ro'esty.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 8 or so I baked my first cake. I mistook the flour for the powdered sugar and the "cake" ended up as a chocolate sink hole. Amazingly, it tasted all right, but it looked terrible.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms
Amazing! I served this with brown rice and grilled asparagus - very filling. I did change to olive oil and used half as much vinegar. In addition, I used the same amount of marinade on 2 caps. I think next time I will put a little shaved parmesan or romano cheese and pop them under the broiler for a minute or two. Yum!

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad
Amazing! I could not stop eating this. I used only about 1/2 of a packet of the seasoning mix to reduce the sodium, and it was still delicious. I recommend it highly. I brought it to a party and had to come home and make more.

Key West Chicken
I'm sorry to say I didn't like this at all. I followed the recipe to a T, but it just had a very "off" flavor. There was no distinction between the flavors and the combination just didn't suit me.
