My newest nephew came into the world in the usual fashion. My sister has been through this before, granted her youngest one prior to the little bundle of joy is 9 years old. But it’s just like riding a bike right? She did great! However, this is her husband’s first child! I talked to my sister the night before and she was just miserable! She was all swollen with cankles and tired and cranky. I hugged her and told her to call me when she goes into labor, I just knew she was ready to go!! Well, I got "the call" at 5:15 that morning from a very calm Dan saying that they were heading to the hospital and could I call the house at 7 am to make sure the kids are up and getting ready for school. I said, sure and good luck! So I called the house at 10 to 7 and they were up and getting ready. I hung up the phone and a couple minutes later I got another call from Dan, this time he sound like he was about to puke or pass out, or maybe both! He said that they were about 10 minutes away from having the baby, did you call the kids, are they up, are they getting ready, tell them they still have to go to school, tell them I will pick them up after school and bring them to the hospital, I have to go….(pass out) That last part was from me, but I am certain he was thinking that! I assured him I would call the kids again and not to worry about that, then I hung up. That was at about 7:05 or so. The sweet little boy was born at 7:14 am, and he weighed 7 lbs 14 oz! Cute as a bug’s ear I tell you! They finally gave that poor boy a name that evening. Well, I shouldn’t be so hard on them, Jason and I didn’t name our little boy til he was bout 12 hours old. I’m just so excited about him!….A little too excited I think! My kids are not quite 18 months apart and they keep me so busy I haven’t had time to catch baby fever. Well, I think that sweet little boy gave me baby fever!! Proud Auntie Alert!! AAHEM!! Attention Everyone: Introducing: Gunner Dellano!

Welcome to the world, Gunner! His birthdate and birth time coincidence reminds me of my daughter's - she was born at 2222 (10:22 p.m.) on the 22nd and was my maternal grandparents' 22nd great-grandchild!

Cute baby! And a good name, too-- from Old Norse Gunnarr, a warrior-name, so he will grow up to be brave and strong! Great news, proud auntie Froghopper! I wish you many happy hours playing with your new nephew!

About Me
I'm 28, married to a great guy, have 2 wonderful kids, and a cat. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my kids. I also love to try new recipes. I work as a lab tech.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook mexican dishes. I would cook more Italian dishes too, but my husband is not a big fan of Pasta - there's something wrong with him I think! Not much of a baker - I'm a bit afriad of it. I can do 2 pies and 1 cookie very well but beyond that - yikes!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young, at leat once a year all my family on my mom's side would pack into my grandparents little house and have "Uffda Tacos" AKA fry bread tacos. Everyone brought 1 ingredient. They got the name "Uffda Tacos" because my grandpa (who is an old Norweigien)would always unbuckle his belt and say "Uffda" when he was finished. My grandpa has since passed on and now my family is spread across the country, but that will always be one of my favorite memories.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I make something new and my husband says he likes it.
My cooking tragedies
My grandma use to make the best home made bread ever. She never used a recipe. I decided that I would find a recipe for bread and make it on my own. It didn't rise ay all. So I tried again, and again it didn't rise. My spirit was broken (fragile teenager spirit). It took about 15 years but I finally tried working with yeast again and have found success! I have not been able to recreate my grandma's bread tho.
