Well, It’s Thursday and tomorrow I get my daughter back!! She’s 3 ½ years old and she just spent her first week at grandma and grandpa’s house! She’s done so good, sleeping through the night and going to bed good. I’ve talked to her twice a day since we left her there after our weekend visit last Sunday. She’s having a great time at the lake so it has made it a little easier on me! On Monday I was feeling a little guilty that I wasn’t missing her desperately. Well, it’s Thursday and I am MISERABLE!!! I miss her SO MUCH!!! She’s got these chubby little cheeks that are so kissable and she gives the greatest hugs and I am craving some horribly! She’s absolutely hugable, kissable, lovable, squishable, sqeezeable!! She’s always very busy when I call, so she quickly fills me in on her morning/day then asks what I’m doing, what her little brother is up to and what’s daddy doing. Then it’s I miss you mommy, I love you so much and you’re my best friend! God, I LOVE HER!!! She’s just the best little girl ever!! I am completely over the moon excited to see her tomorrow! I hope you don’t mind my proud mama blabbering!

I totally can relate,Froghopper! My daughter started going to stay with her grandma when she was 4 yrs. old. I can hardly bear to go in her room when she's not here. You miss the routine onslaught of hugs and kisses and most of all (for me) the snuggle time. Trying to stay busy is hard, too. You wonder constantly what she's doing at that very moment. Your daughter will be so full of stories to tell you!! What a wonderful gift for Grandma, too. Creating all those wonderful memories.

Oh, and from the looks of those great photos...she's quite the little 'ham' for the camera!

She is precious! My 4 year old just started asking about sleeping over grandma's or auntie's house...I'm sure it will happen soon, but that first time will be so tough on me! :(

Oh, she is quite the ham! She likes to be behind the camera too! Christine - the first time is very hard! She's had a 4 day weekend with her brother at grandma's about a year ago when I was sick and in the hospital, but I was so out of it I couldn't dwell on it so that was nice!! This is the first time staying without her brother! Speaking of him - he's two and into EVERYTHING!! So that has helped keep me occupied most of the time.

Very cute!!! I have 2 boys, 6 and 3 1/2 years old, but they have never had a sleep over. We don't have any family in Florida, I'm sure they would enjoy spending the night at Grandma's house.

Hi Fit&Healthy Mom! My BIL and SIL live in Pensacola with their daughter, I'm sure my MIL can't wait til she's old enough to spend a week at grandma's house way in MN!! I'm really lucky to have my in-laws and part of my family so close to me!!

About Me
I'm 28, married to a great guy, have 2 wonderful kids, and a cat. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my kids. I also love to try new recipes. I work as a lab tech.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook mexican dishes. I would cook more Italian dishes too, but my husband is not a big fan of Pasta - there's something wrong with him I think! Not much of a baker - I'm a bit afriad of it. I can do 2 pies and 1 cookie very well but beyond that - yikes!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young, at leat once a year all my family on my mom's side would pack into my grandparents little house and have "Uffda Tacos" AKA fry bread tacos. Everyone brought 1 ingredient. They got the name "Uffda Tacos" because my grandpa (who is an old Norweigien)would always unbuckle his belt and say "Uffda" when he was finished. My grandpa has since passed on and now my family is spread across the country, but that will always be one of my favorite memories.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I make something new and my husband says he likes it.
My cooking tragedies
My grandma use to make the best home made bread ever. She never used a recipe. I decided that I would find a recipe for bread and make it on my own. It didn't rise ay all. So I tried again, and again it didn't rise. My spirit was broken (fragile teenager spirit). It took about 15 years but I finally tried working with yeast again and have found success! I have not been able to recreate my grandma's bread tho.
