Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
Loved this recipe. The cookies came out very moist on the inside, which is what I like. I cut back on the white sugar, brown sugar, and butter and it was still delicious, and a bit too sweet. Left them out over night uncovered and the next morning they were still moist and soft. Definitely will be making these again.

Yummy Candied Yams

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
This was really good. I kind of estimated everything. I used what to me looked like 3 big yams and cooked them per recipe, with just a bit of change. As some of the other reviewers suggested, I added in a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg and a splash of vanilla, used half sugar and half brown sugar. I also used almost a cup of water, as the sweet potatoes looked big to me, and it worked out very well. I had syrupy sweet sauce on the bottom of the pan, not too watery and bland, and after I mashed the potatoes, it was like sweet potato casserole. If anything, it was too sweet, even after I cut out half the white sugar. Otherwise, it was very good.

Spinach and Beef Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
Not quite sure how to rate this recipe, but the lasagna turned out quite well. I agree with other reviewer: instructions were not clear enough. I just followed the general outline of the recipe, so I used all the ingredients that were called for, but in terms of quantity, I kind of just eyeballed everything and added in the amount as I though appropriate. I also accidentally bought cottage cheese instead of ricotta cheese. It was too late by the time I realized that and so I went ahead and used it. It turned out very well and it got my daughter's approval, so hence, the 4 star rating. In my opinion, a much better recipe than the slow cooker lasagna.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
OMG! Talk about big, fat, chewy chocolate chip cookies. These came out so perfect and even better than the bakeries'. I ate 3 right away and they were amazing. I added in some peanut butter chips and so cut down on the white sugar. But my gosh, these were awesome. They were soft, chewy, and moist.

One Egg Lemon Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
I really loved this cake and so did the little ones. Recipe is fairly easy and quick. The baking time took me about 60 minutes, not 30, but after the baking, the cake was really delicious, crusty on the top and nice, soft, and moist in the middle. Will definitely be making this again. Instead of using lemon extract (I didn't have any on hand, I used actual lemon juice and lemon peel. It still turned out great.)

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
Made it today for my family and they loved it. Always found the restaurant style chicken noodle soups to be too salty. This was great in that I could control all the ingredients and it was very simple. I didn't change except for leaving off the onions and adding in celery instead. Altogether, from preparation to cooking, it took about 60-75 minutes.

Adam's Apple Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
OMG, one of the best apple cakes ever. Nice and crunchy on top and then super moist inside. As some of the other reviewers noted, the batter was very thick, but after I added in the chopped apples it got more moist. The apples add some extra sweet flavoring, so keep that in mind when measuring out the sugar. I used less sugar than what the recipe called for. Also, I think the apples add extra moistness to the cake. I had chopped mine up to small pieces. I will definitely be making this again. Totally yummy.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
This was rather simple to make and good. I added in more vegetables (green bell peppers, onions, and fresh tomatoes). I used no salt added tomato sauce instead of tomato paste, mixed with spaghetti sauce, but I think the spaghetti sauce made it a little too salty. So I think maybe next time I'll just do with no salt added tomato paste. I really liked it that I could just put everything into the slow cooker and not have to keep an eye on the flame.

Fluffy Pancakes

This was a very good recipe. The pancakes came out fluffy and moist. A little bit dry for me, but my family loved it. I followed the recipe, definitely will be making this again.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
I love this recipe. My little gobbled it up. To make it healthier, I added in some extra veggies (mushrooms) and used brown rice, instead of white. The brown rice needs more water to cook, but I'm not sure how much more, as when I did it, I just added water as it called for.

My-Hop Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
Loved it. Did use lemon juice instead of buttermilk, as I didn't have any on hand. Came out great, reminds of Perkin's pancakes, but as their pancake contains hydrogenated oil and this doesn't, this was a much better alternative.
