About this Cook
I love to cook. My dad is a cook so I have been cooking for as long as I can remember. Right now though I cook for my and my boyfriend and sometimes his 3 kids. I go to school and I work.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook many different things. Mostly cooking because it is soooooo easy. I just put things in the slow cooker and leave it alone until we are ready to eat (very handy for people on the go). I also, when I have the time, look to bake. Cookies are my favorite. Anything with mushrooms is another thing. I love mushrooms.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Is Christmas time cookies. We also make Christmas wreaths (cornflakes and marshmellows) and candycane cookies. Not Christmas without them. We also always make cornbeef dip. It sounds kind of gross and looks gross but taste wonderful.
My cooking triumphs
When I made my first pie from scratch. I was a sophmore in high school and we were making it is home ec. I made the filling and the crust from scratch. I was so proud of myself that I told my mom I would make the pie for the following Thanksgiving.
My cooking tragedies
It comes with the territory. When you cook there is always a tragidy her and there, unless you are a cooking master. I remember once I was making cookies for my high school bake sale and while they were in the oven my mom and I got in this huge fight. I in turn forgot about the cookies that were in the oven baking. Finally 10- 15 minutes after they should have been pulled out of the oven I can smell them in my room. Needless to say they were way burnt and I had to remake them.

Elk Chili
I like it alot , but I thought it was a little on the soupy side. I have made it several times and after the first couple I started to drain, I know this will sound weird, the stewed tomatos. It helps a bit.

Strawberry Trifle
I think this is really good, but inside I used homemade whip cream and fresh strawberries because they way better than frozen.
