This is very similar to a recipe I grew up making. Most of my family is from Finland, so this is a delicious bread we had often when I was a child. I always use Saf Instant Yeast Gold Label(2 1/4 tsp), and instead of 1tsp cardamom I use 1T. I have never had a problem with the dough rising. It always comes out perfect, just like my family made it. Definitely incredible. I only make it on Easter and Christmas, but it is always well worth the time.
