Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
I really love this recipe for baked beans, and you can change the recipe to your taste. I use a small ceramic dutch oven and chop and brown turkey bacon then add onion to saute for a while and deglaze the pan with the vinegar and worcestershire sauce. Then I mix all the other ingredients in the pan, mix, and throw it in the oven. I'm making it for the third time tonight because my guy has requested it to go with our Easter ham.

Authentic Pad Thai

Great Recipe! I cheated and used Pad Thai sauce I purchased in Chinatown, but the technique makes a really great Pad Thai.

Roast Potatoes

Great base recipe! I added a sprinkling of parmesan cheese, and baked it for a bit longer to get a nice brown (about 30 minutes).

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
Good base recipe, but needs modification. I made it as written; however, next time I'll likely cut the cream cheese in half, and add some bread crumbs and some other flavor enhancers.

Simple Baked Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
The most delicious baked beans I had ever had! The bacon really makes this dish- don't skip it. I tried making this recipe last minute for dinner last night, and the 3 hour cooking time really makes a difference, but it's still delicious with just an hour of cooking time.

Simple Deviled Eggs

I've never made Deviled Eggs with onion before, and I certainly won't be making them without ever again. I used the recipe for 'Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs' recipe to make the eggs the day before.

Quick and Easy Home Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This recipe makes the most delicious breakfast potatoes I've ever had. I made them exactly as the recipe called for, in an enameled dutch oven. The potatoes had a tendency to stick to the bottom of the pan, and I wish I would have gotten more of it off the bottom of the pans. I will surely make this again, in a different type of nonstick pan.

The Sarge's Goetta - German Breakfast Treat

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
This recipe is amazing! Tastes just like store bought Goetta from Cincinnati! I've made this recipe 3 times, and I'd managed to make a huge mess just once. READ THE RECIPE! The first time, I added the oats to the meat and cooked it all at once, surprisingly it came out good still. The second time, I left the heat on high after I added the meat (DON'T DO THIS!!) it came out like soup. The third, I've managed to perfect it. If your "meat stew mixture" starts to look watery after about an hour, just go ahead and begin the cooling process. I roll them into little tootsie roll looking logs and store one in the fridge and freeze the others to defrost the night before I plan to serve.
