Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
bake in glass loaf dish, when cooled I slice into pieces to put in sandwich bag and freeze. Fry it any morning with your eggs or lunch time nuke it with left over stewed tomatoes.

Mom's Red Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
This dish sounds delicious, however I would not call it Scalloped Potatoes! As this recipe calls for Cheddar cheese I would call it Potatoes Au Gratin. Scalloped does not call for any cheese and with butter and milk shouldn't need any. I like with or without cheese. I just think it's confusing.

I used tarragon vinegar. It's not as bitter and the only vinegar I use. It's a popular brand.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I have been doing this chicken and all like this since I first got married in 1956! However, I never bothered to use a bottom crust. Why??? if some is left over (rarely) you don't have soggy undercrust! Just put the crust on top only!! you can use pre made crust, but it's easy to make your own and add a little more salt to it! This way, you don't have as many calories from the bottom crust!!!

Whiskey Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I used a good pound cake recipe in a Turk's head pan. I put some of the nuts in bottom of the pan, and made sure it was baked long enough!!! My glaze has 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup butter ...boil a few min. (do not stir) then add 1/4 cup whiskey. I used knitting needles to poke holes in the cake then poured the glaze over it. Let sit awhile then turn the cake out onto plate. Been doing this for almost 30 yrs.

Fluffy Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
As a child I hated to eat, but a friend of my mother had me over-night and she threw 2 eggs in a pan with butter mixed them with a fork and added a good splash of whole milk, salt and pepper. they were so fluffy and I wanted more. On holidays everyone wants me to make the scrambled eggs. one little girl told her mommy she wanted more, more!!! I rest my case!

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
Just finished making this a couple of hours ago. It was perfect! Easy! I had read some of the reviews before attempting this and found someone had said that it burned everything ... you have to check the Wattage on your Microwave Oven!!! Mine is 1200, the recipe calls for 700 watts. I put my power on 80% used exact time and it got dark but not burned. It looks more like what you would buy and tastes better!

Jewish Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
Love this cake. I cheated and used 4 apples, instead of mixing apples in white sugar, I used brown, and instead of orange juice I used 1/4 cup of Rum! Much better.
