Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
Pretty good. A very versitile, user-friendly recipe. The dough was a bit sticky, but it is not designed to be tossed like a pizza. I added extra sugar and 1 TBS 1/2 of Herbs de Province (with lavender) to the dough. I topped with crumbled Feta before baking. I also substituted 8 mini loaf pans for the muffin cups, for a fluffier roll and unique presentation. These cute little loaves complimented my dinner nicely, and were a tasty alternative for sandwiches the next day. I will make these sooon, and perhaps experiment with shallots or roasted garlic.

Diana's Hawaiian Bread Rolls

Not as "fabulous" as others would like you to believe. For the time, effort, and ingredients, I suggest a kinder approach to both yourself and your kitchen; go buy them at the nearest grocer's. The only thing these were good for, was a creative salvage the next day as french toast nuggets. That is the ONLY reason I cannot in good faith give this recipe only one star. My french toast was good.

Pork Brine

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
Not very good. There was absolutely NOTHING tender about my pork. Luckily I coated my pork with a smathering of maple bacon. I would substitue apple juice in place of the vinegar, but may never know, because I fear to subject a nice piece of meat to such brutality.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
This is one of the BEST cookie recipies. The cookies were moist, and got better and better each day (I think they made it two). They did not dry out. The only thing I did differently was to add one large box of vanilla pudding mix and increase the amount of spice I used (I like the kick). Absolutely perfect! It's hard to find a bonafied good recipie. This is it.

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Bland. I am not impressed with this recipe, and am shocked at all the "good" reviews it recieved--which is why I gave it a go. The dough had no flavor, and was more dry than it was chewy and soft.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2004
Pretty good. My guy liked it, and I plan on making this dish again in the future. I didn't shove my pork loin in the oven, rather cooked until done and let them rest while I got the sauce cooking.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2004
I don't see what the "hoop-la" is about this recipie. I thought the dough was a bit dry, and pretty bland. They looked good, but were extremely heavy and hard on the stomach and way way too overpowering sweet-wise. I've had better, and next time I'll resort to the pop-n-bake in the butter section of my grocer.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2004
Pretty good. I reduced the temp to 375 and baked seven minutes. I only dipped one side of my rounded teaspoon of dough in the cinn./sugar mixture. I noticed the taste of the tartar was stronger the longer the cookies baked.

Chile Verde II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2004
Good stuff! I didn't need such a monstrous amount, so I cut it all in half and it tasted great. I also wanted the pork to melt on tongue tip, so I let it cook and simmer for three more hours--though some of that was by cause of a speachlessly late boyfriend. All-in-all this is a good recipe for the first time attempt at this dish, and can be manipulated according to individual tastes. I look forward to making enchiladas out of the reduction tomorrow.
