White Bread II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I used regular flour instead of bread flour and 1&1/2 teaspoons yeast instead of the 1&1/4 stated in the recipe. I have been looking for a "light" bread and I think I have finally found it. Very good for sandwich bread, grilled cheese etc, that my other white bread recipes are just too heavy for. Thanks, I think even hubby will use this one for his sandwiches as he really likes the lighter store bought breads.

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
This pie was perfect in flavor and texture. I had no problems with it setting up and think that perhaps those that did, didn't let it bake long enough maybe. I added an extra 1/2 cup of pecans and I used chopped nuts. I didn't have any dark corn syrup so I used light corn syrup and 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white. I used an 8" deep pie pan and it filled it up nicely. I will look no further for a pecan pie recipe, this was perfect.

Caramel Pecan Delight

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I made this in a 10" springform pan for a prettier presentation. But because a 10" pan is smaller, I reduced the amount of crust by 25%, I didn't want to have an inch thick crust, but I kept the amount of filling the same. When I first made the filling, I tasted it and I didn't really like it and I was worried. But the taste all comes together in the end, the crust, the filling, the sauce and pecans all come together beautifully. Everyone at our church dinner loved it, and I will definitely make this again. Thanks for sharing you recipe : )

Banoffee Pavlova

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I forgot to turn the oven temperature down to 300 and I didn't realize it until it had been in the oven for an hour. I turned the oven off immediately, cracked the door until cool, and it STILL came out great. Perfect color, crispy outside and soft inside. I used regular granulated sugar and it was great. Will definitely make again, but next time, I will make it when guests are over, this is way too much for just me and hub. So I will over eat, and my diet will be out the door for today!! I shall start again Monday morning! Thank the Lord for making each day a new beginning : )

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
Giving this 5 stars based on what this dough is supposed to be, and that is a crust without yeast. It was better than I expected, since there is no yeast. After reading other reviews, I decided to omit 1 egg, added extra flour, garlic and basil. I PRESSED this out making it a very thin crust and I am completely happy with the results. I doubled the recipe, and baked the second crust for 20 minutes, then froze it for a later date, where all I had to do was add the toppings to the frozen crust and voila! pizza ready in minutes. Thanks for sharing

Hearty Meatball Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
I didn't change anything and thought this recipe was OK. I think next time, I will add less vege's but throw in some celery and add V8 to the broth for flavor. It is very thick, more like a stew.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
OK, here's the deal: had a get together of around 70 people, who ALL brought a dish with them. Needless to say, it was a literal smorgasbord. I myself made several desserts, all of which were chocolately goodness. All of the desserts were good, but this little easy simple dessert was the talk of the guests. Didn't change a thing except for adding another 4 oz of cream cheese and increasing the sugar by 1/4 cup. The honey is what tops it all off, so don't leave it out. Thanks for a fabulous recipe. : )

Herb Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
I loved that this was so quick and easy and added a nice touch to an otherwise boring dinner tonight. I added garlic powder and basil to the butter. The biscuit pieces pull apart easily after baking and I thought this would be great using these bread pieces on the side with a spinach dip instead of the usual bread bowl with dip. Thanks for sharing!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I only had 10 flour tortillas and it seemed to work fine with just 10. After I made the meat mixture, it seemed bland, so I added a packet of taco seasoning and that did the trick. Next time, I'll skip the taco sauce and just use 2 packets of taco seasoning. Yummy delicious! Thanks for sharing

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
I have abandoned my much loved ranch dressing in favor of this more healthy dressing. I am trying to avoid preservatives/msg and other junky additives and this is just perfect. If you use olive oil instead of regular oil, it is even more healthy. I only use one tablespoon of salt, but other than that, follow the recipe exactly. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
You have to LOVE curry to love this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and this was too much curry for me. But that is nothing against the recipe, it is supposed to have a strong curry taste. So next time, I will use only 1 tablespoon of curry. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I liked that this didn't use canned soup. We are trying to get away from MSG and preservatives etc. in foods. I doubled the recipe for extra gravy, added a couple more tablespoons of catsup, a little extra worchestershire, pepper and salt. Very good flavor! Thanks for sharing.

Butternut Kisses

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Very good! I added 1 cup of milk chocolate mini's to the dough. It is important to keep your balls at 1 inch, too much dough around the kiss makes a dry, bland cookie.

Funnel Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
One of the reviewers of this recipe was really mean, if you don't like a recipe just say so, you don't have to insult the submitter. I added 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla to the batter. Tastes exactly like the Fair funnel cakes, which means, this recipe does exactly what it's supposed to. Thanks for sharing!!

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
I thought this was good but next time I will adjust the amount of nutmeg to 1/4 teaspoon. Nutmeg can be overpowering and in my opinion, it overpowered this dish. I think brown sugar would give it that extra something that is missing here.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
After tasting the pudding mixture, I decided I wanted more chocolate flavor, so I whipped up another box of chocolate pudding in a seperate bowl using only 1 cup of milk and folded it into the pudding mixture. I think next time, I will add the caramel and toffee bits as another reviewer suggested. But I think 2 boxes of pudding with extra milk definitely improves it. Thanks for sharing your great recipe!

I thought these were pretty good! I was out of bread crumbs so I used cracker crumbs. I cooked them on the grill and gave them a shot of worchestershire while they were cooking.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

I used italian bread crumbs and doubled the amount of old bay. We really enjoyed these and I plan on shredding some of my zucchini for the freezer so I can make these throughout the winter!
