Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
This stuffing is SOO good! I just made it for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I followed the directions up until mixing the apples, cranberries and parsley. Then a drizzled some olive oil over all of it, and thoroughly mixed in a can of chicken broth. I transferred it to a greased 13x9 pan, and tomorrow will bring the pan to room temp. and heat at 350 for about 35 min. per another reviewer's advice. I also omitted the turkey liver (bleahh) and used oil instead of butter, and all wheat bread instead of white. Hope this helps!

Apple and Spice Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
I cannot express how grateful I am for this recipe! My 2-year-old son is allergic to dairy, and my 1-year-old son is allergic to eggs, so I am always searching for milk-free, egg-free recipes! I also added dried cranberries instead of raisins, and used water instead of apple juice, as I didn't have any. However, 1/3 c. of liquid was not enough to make a dough. It was still dry and floury. I used 2/3 c. and that was a bit too much so maybe 1/2 c. ? This is a great fall cookie recipe and I'm sure will be a staple for my boys for years to come!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
Ummm, maybe I made these wrong, but they didn't turn out very well at all! I took them to an event and was quite embarassed by the way they looked and tasted.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I've made this recipe a couple times now, and each time it has turned out the same. It tastes pretty good, but sinks down in the middle. It looks really bad. I will go with a different recipe from now on.

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I seriously cannot believe how good these brownies are! I am so delighted to have found this recipe. My 2-year-old son is allergic to milk, and my 1-year-old son is allergic to eggs, and I am always trying to find desserts that they can eat. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical that "vegan" brownies would taste good to myself, a non-vegan. I will definitely be making these brownies very often for my boys (and be sneaking one for myself)! Thanks so much for this recipe!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
These pancakes were AMAZING! I made them this morning, and my whole family loved them! I substituted soy milk, b/c my son is allergic to milk, and they were still delicious! Thanks, Ruth!

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
This took less time to make than it does to walk down the grocery store aisle, pick out a bottle of dressing, and pay for it! I omitted the celery salt (as I didn't have any) and reduced the salt to 1 T. like everyone else said, and it was perfect. I will never pay for Italian dressing again! Thanks so much for the great recipe!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
Does anyone know how to substitute the French Onion soup in this recipe? I LOVE these sandwiches, but need it to be non-dairy for my family due to food allergies. Thanks!

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
This was delicious! I made it in the crock pot, as others suggested. About an hour before we ate, I checked on it, and it was pretty dry, so I mixed in almost an entire can of chkn broth, and it made all the difference! So succulent! Definitely a keeper! Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Sauce I

This turned out to be just an okay, average recipe. Nothing spectacular, but I did appreciate how easy it was!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
This recipe was so easy... I just put it on the stove and cleaned my kitchen while it simmered! It was delicious, too! The only modification I made was I doubled the sugar, b/c I only had Granny Smith apples, and didn't want it to be too tart. I also added a little extra water to compensate for the extra sugar. Wonderful recipe, I don't think I'll ever buy jarred applesauce again!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
This was okay, but not great. In fact, before making this recipe, I usually just cook chkn in the crock pot with some water, drain it, shred it, and mix it with some bottled BBQ sauce. It tastes better than this recipe and is MUCH easier. I think I'll just go back to doing that.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
I made these this morning for breakfast. They were very good, but something was a bit off. I want to try making these again using brown sugar instead of white, and see if that was it. It lacked that warm, homey flavor you want in a pumpkin recipe. Just a bit too sweet. Aside from that, it was the perfect balance of chewiness on the inside, and crispy crunchiness on the top! I may even make these for Thanksgiving breakfast!

Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
These croutons were incredibly easy to make, and infinitely better than store-bought croutons. It is worth the short time it will take to make them. I added them to Caesar Salad Supreme, and it was delicious!
