Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2004
Amazing good! These rolls are a real treat. The only thing I will change in the future is to reduce the amount of cinnamon to the half. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
I had a hard time with this recipe! I tried it for the first time when some relatives came for dinner. I know that I shouldn't have done that but because of the countless raving reviews I thought that nothing could go wrong (also I am an experienced cook). The chicken turned out very sour and very pale (it didn’t look appetising at all). So I had to try many things to improve it. I added soy sauce, loads of sugar to less the tangy taste and I added fresh dairy cream. In the end it turned ok. I served with sour cream and chives, cooked basmati and green salat. Sorry but I won’t be making this recipe again.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Yummy! Moist and comforting. I cut the sugar as some reviewers suggested and added cinnamon. Next time I will top with a topping made of lemon and confectionary sugar.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! very yummy!! These pancakes are so gut!! I can't refrain myself :) They are wonderful with syrup or honey. Sometimes I add some berries and they work always perfectly fine. I have been looking a long time for "the perfect pancake" recipe from scratch. Thank you very much for posting this recipe.

Very yummi! I just used black beans, I also added jalapenos, sweet corn and the only cheese I had at hand - gouda cheese mature. It was very very good!

Monkey Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I have just tried this recipe and it turned out very!!! yummy. I followed other reviewers suggestions and used only the half ammount of the sugar and butter. Next time I will try to use even less butter 'cause I still had some left. But I guess if you want it gooey you should follow the recipe. For me and hubby would be way too sweet and fat. It's very feeling with the reduced ammount of butter, anyway! I also omitted the raisins. Just made the little balls and dunk them in melted butter and rolled them in cinammon-sugar mix. Very good! Very exotic looking as well (for Germany at least :). Impressive. I will take one of this to our next coffee gathering in the office. Thanks for posting!

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
These bars are delicious! But recipes calls for loads of sugar. I halved the ammount of sugar, so they became tangy (the way I like), creamy and very good!

It was ok, but I found it a little bland. It's more like a sauce.

Oma's Rhubarb Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
Delicious!! My husband and I loved it. Even though I used less sugar than required the cake was still wonderful. I am trying to cut our sugar intake so I used 1 cup sugar for the cake and 1/3 for the streusel. I think one can swap the rhubarb for tart apples or tart cherries and the result will also be great. I must try. Thank you very much for the recipe!

German Apple Pancake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This pancake is delicious!! I followed some reviewers advice and used less eggs (only 2), reduced the butter to 1 Tsp for the batter and 2 Tsp for the skillet. I also reduced the sugar to 3 Tsp for the skillet + topping and still this fluffy concoction was wonderful. I fried the apple slices in the butter on the stoven, sprinked part of the sugar cinnamon mix over them, then spread the batter and baked it. It turned out very fluffy. After baking I spread the rest of cinnamon and sugar and I sprinkled it with lemon juice. Hmmmm!! My husband loved it as well. Thank you for the recipes!!!

Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Very good an easy to make! I followed some reviewers and used more soy sauce and it was quite salty! So don't do it before trying it first. Stick to the recipe! The whole house smelt wonderfully of glazed mushrooms :) Thanx for sharing.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
I had to review my review ;) I can't believe that someone who likes chocolate cake won't like this cake! It's wonderful and not that rich that you can't eat 2 maybe 3 pieces at once. Hmmm... I made with choc butter and powder sugar frosting (same for filling). It tastes like a chocolate cake from a very fine bakery. DO NOT LET THE BAD REVIEWS DISCOURAGE YOU! You will miss a great culinary experience ;) ----------- THIS IS A DREAM CAKE!!!! I can't believe that it didn't work for some people! This cake is wonderful and it is dummy proof ;) It's so easy to make, no frills. No egg whites beating, no mixing dry an wet ingredients separately first. I used a browny icing and it was beautiful. Delicious. Hmmmmm!!! I must confess that I used less sugar an less oil in my second try. I wanted to feel less guilt when devouring this wonderful concoction. Even w/ less oil and sugar it was scrumptious and moist all the way! I might be beating a dead horse here but I baked this cake today again and it is just M-A-R-V-E-L-L-O-U-S!!! So I decided to comment again. This time I used cocoa buttercream frosting and must say that is the best chocolate cake ever! Here I am enjoying this awesome cake drowsing my way in a blissful chocolate comma. Envy me ;)

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This dip is incredible! I've made it for our New Year's Eve party and hope that will be a success. I used homemade refried beans and homemade taco mix from this site. I just added extra fine chopped jalapenos and instead of monterey used gouda (no monterey cheese in Germany :). I have already tried and I just love it!!! DH as well. Let's see how the other guests are going to react. This is a rather uncommon dip over here. Anyway, thank you very much for this recipes.
