Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
As a kid, I never liked rhubarb but this pie with the strawberries was exceptionally good. I did add just a little more sugar than called for but everything else remained the same. Excellent recipe, five stars all the way.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
Yep.. this one is a winner. My wife REALLY liked this one. The left overs were just as good the next day. The only thing I did differently was adding some onions. This is deffinately a keeper!

Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2006
This recipe was OK but it was very bland and it didn't get gobbled up like other scalloped potatoe recipes that I've fixed.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
Pretty good soup and easy to make. I read in the reviews that it was to soupy so I only used one cup of water. I should have used two especially if you like to use crackers in your soup. The one thing that you need to know about this recipe is that it makes a LOT more than four servings. I would guess that 8 or 9 servings would be closer.

Country Style Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
Just like Grandma used to make! I, too, cut up a white onion and added to the potatoes about four minutes before the potatoes were done. If you add the onion to soon they will burn or become tough. The cast iron skillet does make a difference but don't let that stop you from making these if you don't have one. Any skillet will still produce a great tasting country fried potato dish!

Microwave Baked Potato

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
It tastes just as good when baked in the microwave as in the oven and it's a LOT faster. I fix the little red potatoes that I've quartered in the microwave also. It only takes about five minutes to fix a serving for one. Just add butter and in five minutes you have baked potatoes!!

Chris' Kraut

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
This was good and I really liked the bacon but the sugar changed the flavor of the sauerkraut to much for me. Next time I'll make this and leave out the sugar.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
This is a very good sausage gravy recipe... however it does not make four servings. I only used 1/3 of a pound of sausage and made the gravy as written. I ate the entire thing myself and was really full. I think 2 servings is the max you will get out of the gravy.

Tater Tot Casserole II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
Very tasty. I did add a can of corn ('cause I really like corn). For the size of the pan (9x13), the soup just made a thin layer over the tater tots so next time I'll add an extra mushroom soup and also put the tater tots on top instead of the bottom. I like the tater tots to be a crunchy. I think the tater tots absorbed a lot of the soup and the whole thing was a little dry. This can be fixed with another can of soup. As far as the taste.... it's five stars for me.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2006
We regurally go to an Italian resturant and always order their chicken parmesan and the meal costs over $50.00. After going there last Saturday, I decided that I would give this recipe a try for comparson. I think this is just as good, if not better, than the fancy restaruant. Definately 5 stars both for taste and being easy to prepare.

Cream of Asparagus Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
This was the first time I have made asparagus soup and it was better than any I've had in a restaurant. I made without any changes except to make three servings instead of six. My wife loved this. Thanks Willam for a really good recipe.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
This is really easy to fix and it looks just like the picture. Definately a five star chicken recipe. I didn't change or add anything and it was really good. The spices give it a unique flavor that both my wife and I really liked. Highly recomended. Thanks C. Perez for a great chicken recipe.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
EXCELLENT! The only thing I changed was to add a small slice of onion ('cause I like onions). I also scaled this down to 2 servings. I could have easily eaten the whole thing myself. I chopped up the celery really fine... next time I'll make the celery pieces a little bigger. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks Bobbye for posting.

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
Not the best potato soup that I've had but it was ok. I'm curious how the picture of the potato soup came out white. After I added the chicken broth the soup turned brown. After adding the heavy cream it still didn't turn white. It looked more like gravy than potato soup.

Apple Cake III

The BEST cake I've had the pleasure to taste. I did take the advice of several other reviewers and used two cans of apple pie filling. Thank you Mary Ann Benzon for a wonderful recipe. I think you should win some kind of award for this one!!!

There isn't any reason to make changes to this recipe. It is really good just as it is. I will make this again and again. Perfect comfort food on a cold frosty day. Highly recomended. Do not cook for more than four hours.

Creamy Beef and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2006
I had a small jar of mushrooms that I subed and that may have made the sauce a little to thin. It seemed a little bland and needed more spices.

Creamy Potato and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
This was the first time I've use leeks and was plesantly surprised how tasty they are. Next time I'll use one more leek and a few more potatoes. One suggestion.... When you dice up the potatoes make the pieces fairly small (bite size).
