Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
This could be a meal I would buy at a fancy restaurant! I made this exactly as written and it was great. At first I thought I had burned the chicken when I turned it over but it was the brown sugar that had caramelized. I would venture to say that this is the best chicken recipe that I've found and I will be making this one again and again.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
As good, if not better, than any you can buy. As a suggestion, you might want to set your timer for about 3 1/2 minutes then add the cheese for another minute. Goes great with pasta.

Giovanna's Yummy Cheese Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2005
I made this without any changes and it was pretty good. I think my wife liked it better than I. Next time instead of using bread crumbs, I will use Ritz Cracker crumbs instead. That will give it a little more pazaaz!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
As for taste.... easily five stars. But... the veggies were really overcooked and mushy. I made the stew as close to the recipe as possible however next time (and there will be a next time) I'll add the veggies in about an hour or so before it's done, and hopefully the vegetables won't be so overcooked... This recipe makes the best tasting and tenderest stew I've ever made.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
Five stars? How about 10! This was the VERY best chicken I've ever made.... My wife raved about it. I made this recipe exactly as written and WOW was it good! Thanks Rebecca for a great recipe.

Awesome Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
I made this recipe with the meat of choice being Jimmy Dean's spicy sausage. The only exception was to add some mushrooms which were sauted with the onions and garlic. I gave this five stars because my wife raved about how good the green beans were. I thought it's one of the best ways to prepare green beans that I've had yet!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Yummy, yum, yum!! This has to be a hit with everyone... I added about 1/4 cup of cream cheese and it wasn't bland at all!

Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2005
A good prime rib dinner is my all time favorite and this recipe was really good but not the best that I've made. For some reason the orange marmalade left an after taste. I've never had a bad prime rib but some recipes are better than others so I'll stick to my regular way to prepare.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2005
The only problem with this is that it makes a lot for just two people. However, it is so much better than the dip you can buy at the supermarket.

Deviled Eggs I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
I did use more mayo and replaced the powdered mustard with prepared mustard. I thought the eggs were really good and reminded me of the ones Mom use to make.

Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2005
This is a really easy recipe and both my wife and I really liked it. We both had seconds. I did scale down the recipe for two and added some chopped up onions before putting in the oven. I forgot to add the sherry but it was still really good. I may have boiled the potatoes a bit longer than I should have but I think this may have been one of the things I liked about this. The corn flakes toping was a great idea.

Stir Fried Snow Peas and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
Snow peas are one of my favorite veggys. I made two changes to this recipe. First I used butter instead of olive oil 'cause I don't care for olive oil and second I added a few chopped up green onions. It's a great side dish when you want something different.

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
The only change I made was to peal the red potatoes before I cooked them. The potatoes were good but I really weren't that much different than russet potatoes.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
Five stars does not do this justice. I used chicken tenders instead of breast. I also mashed the artichoke mixture with a potato masher until it was a paste and covered the entire chicken with the mixture. For a little extra flavor, I added sauted onions and mushrooms to the top of the paste five minutes before I took it out of the oven. My wife said this was by FAR the best chicken she had ever eaten!! I don't think I could ever tire of this recipe and I can't wait to make it again! Thank you Ardrury for the best chicken recipe ever!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
I baked mine a little too long... I would suggest baking eight minutes and check. Another suggestion is to bake only one cookie sheet at a time so the air can circulate around the cookies otherwise the bottom of the cookies are done before the tops. I would also use a little less sugar as they were a little to sweet for my taste. However even with my mistakes, the cookies were still good!

Pork Chops and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
I didn't change anything but I would recommend draining the sauerkraut before adding to the skillet. The apple juice gives it plenty of moisture to keep it from burning. I did brown the pork chops first as some of the other reviewers suggested. I didn't think there was enough sauerkraut and next time I'll make with 32 ounces. This is an excellent way to satisfy your craving for sauerkraut!
