About this Cook
I like to cook because it makes others happy. Most love my cooking; my ex swears I can't cook but begs kids to bring home leftovers. Look at profile pick, but do not judge a person by the way they look. Even bikers can cook, make jewelry, paint ceramics, make lap blankets for the elderly in nursing homes and have a loving family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, but always enjoy learning new recipes. One cannot live on cake alone.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Was married to Italian family previously - deceased mother passed family recipes to me that others are now begging for. Unable to write down because mom measured everything in her hand and a pinch of this and that. Now married into a Mexican family - learned how to make the most awesome tamales (again, unable to write down because everything was "taste it, if tastes like this then add that").
My cooking triumphs
My brother-in-law is the most fabulous cook (he did ALL the cooking for my wedding). Recently I've brought over a couple of dishes. He ate every last bite and couldn't stop praising me on how good it was. This is my greatest accomplishment.
My cooking tragedies
Have had a bread machine for years. I lost the original manual. I tried several recipes from this site to make Cinnamon raisin bread. It took me three tries to make something actually eatable. Someday I may actually get it right, now that I was able to find and download the manual to my bread machine.

Easy and Good Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
Great base, had to double the mustard because it was a bit too sweet from the honey for our taste. This makes a large amount, even cutting the recipe in quarter it filled more than half a dressing bottle. Overall it was really good!

Versatile Chicken Salad

Pile it into a tomato half, load it into a wrap, or spread it on bread. Chicken salad does it all.
