SO GOOD! Just made this yesterday. We went apple picking and have a huge amount of Golden Delicious apples. I wanted to make an apple pie, but honestly, I just don't generally love apple pie. So, I was looking for one that was a little different. I followed the recipe exactly except we used our Golden Delicious apples instead of Granny Smith AND we added a tsp of cinnamon to the apples. My family really loves cinnamon. I ended up adding an extra apple too just to mound the pie a bit more. My apples were likely just a bit smaller than the one in the original recipe. I baked mine as directed and left it in the whole 45 minutes at 350 (I had to cover to avoid over browning) and my apples were perfectly done. Golden Delicious tend to stay firmish when baking though. I think this is now out new "go to" apple pie recipe. Thanks!!!
