Peach Muffins
Just finished making (and eating) these. WOW! Let me start my saying I love muffins but they never seem to work out for me the way I hope. The texture is never quite right But, these were excellent. The texture was perfect and the taste were spot on. I could see using these as a base with any fruit or even without fruit since the cinnamon gives them such a great taste. The batter was VERY thick and I was tempted to add milk as some reviewers suggested but I decided to just stick with the recipes as written. I'm glad I did! I used fresh peaches. I only had to cook mine 20 minutes and I'm glad I checked then because I think 25 would be too long. This recipe is a keeper!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
SO GOOD! Just made this yesterday. We went apple picking and have a huge amount of Golden Delicious apples. I wanted to make an apple pie, but honestly, I just don't generally love apple pie. So, I was looking for one that was a little different. I followed the recipe exactly except we used our Golden Delicious apples instead of Granny Smith AND we added a tsp of cinnamon to the apples. My family really loves cinnamon. I ended up adding an extra apple too just to mound the pie a bit more. My apples were likely just a bit smaller than the one in the original recipe. I baked mine as directed and left it in the whole 45 minutes at 350 (I had to cover to avoid over browning) and my apples were perfectly done. Golden Delicious tend to stay firmish when baking though. I think this is now out new "go to" apple pie recipe. Thanks!!!

Steak Soup
I thought this was VERY good. After reading the reviews I made a few changes...I added a T of Worcestershire sauce to the meat when it was cooking and about 1/3 cup of red wine when I added the broth. I cut the paste down to 3 ounces but I'm not sure I'd mind it with the whole 6 ounces called for. I also used sirloin instead of round steak and cooked it longer than the recipe states to ensure it was tender. I tasted it as it was cooking and was afraid it wasn't going to be very flavorful but it was and the flavors all went together very well. I think the wine added a lot. Will definitely be making this again.
