Oregon Salmon Patties

Very tasty recipes. This is something I would prepare again. It is easy to make, typically have the ingredients on hand, and it is ready quickly. I have made this according to the recipe - except I cannot get 3/4 cup of liquid when I drain my canned salmon - and I have made it substituting bread crumbs for cracker crumbs and dried parsley for fresh. Pair with fresh green beans or corn for a quick and delicious meal.

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

We loved this. A perfect New e Year's Day meal! I did not have a jalepeno - used some Tabasco sauce instead. Otherwise, I reduced the water by one cup and got a nice thick dish. Very tasty - I look forward to the leftovers.

Hamburger Jazz

I would give this a 5 star rating for taste. I used Rotel diced tomatoes with chilis to give it some kick. My husband liked it, but I have to say it was not appetizing looking. I turned off the lights and used candles. That was better. I think if I make it again I will drain the tomatoes, add an onion, and cook the rice separately. Would help the look.

Comforting Cube Steaks

Very good. I left out the soft drink and put everything else in the crock pot for 4 hours on high. Very tender, tasty, and a hit with my husband. Love the cajun spices- really gave it a kick.

Drunken Winter Stew

Based on the other reviews, I decided people either love this soup or they hate it, I like cabbage and had some on hand and I decided to give a go. We all loved it! It is hearty, filling, and frugal - a great simple meal when served with buttered bread or rolls. I think the garlic powder or garlic salt is essential, though. I needed to add more at the table and it really made a difference.
