I'm 37 and have enjoyed cooking since I was six years old. When my parents would go out for the evening, rather than telling me not to have friends over, they'd say "If you're gonna cook something, just clean up when you're done!" They'd come home from their bowling league, to enough pies, cakes and cookies to have fed the whole league
My favorite things to cook
Although I enjoy making unique gourmet desserts, I honestly enjoy making almost everything. I will not cook liver, but that's about it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy taking my moms old recipes, and revamping them. She had five "dishes" that she'd cook IF we were having company. Looking back, although at the time we thought they were really good, I have to wonder what we were thinking. They were basic and bland...she knows that now. With the changes my sister and I have made, they are flavorful masterpieces now!
My cooking triumphs
I personally catered a party for 200 when the caterer bagged out at the last minute. It was an amazing success.
My cooking tragedies
I can not make toast, rice or bacon without burning it. How pathetic is that?!

Anise Biscotti
SO SO good. This is my go to recipe for the holidays. I made over a dozen batches this year. There are SO many ways to alter the recipe to taste. I did an espresso hazelnut, cranberry orange almond, almond anise chocolate chip, etc.... you can do whatever you like with them and they're always delicious. It is a great basic recioe to build off of.

Corn Dog Casserole
OUTSTANDING! I didn't have any sage, so I used marjoram...smelled the closest to sage, and I'd never cooked with it before. I was actually surprised at how good it was! I'm not a hot dog fan, but my BF is. He's a trucker and I'm always looking for freezer meal ideas. This freezes and reheats really well! Thanks for sharing it!
