Bisquick® Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
Very easy and will definitely make again. I agree with the others that it is a little dry. In the future I will add a little more milk and maybe vanilla extract.

Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
This is very easy to make and tasty. I cooked my ground beef with onions and garlic. I added worcstershire sauce and seasoned salt for taste. I intended to add a layer of ketchup between the beef and the cheese but forgot. I think it would've added to it. Otherwise, it is very easy and tasty.

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
I made this for the Halloween office party two years ago and it was a hit to look at. My boyfriend and I enjoyed making the little chocolate turds and green litter grains. As for taste, it was okay. Scaled back on the pudding or else it would have been too soggy. Taste way okay but considering what many people were seeing, they were expecting something bad and it was not.

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
I have tried other recipes on this site and the reviews turn out pretty accurate. I was surprised to experience the opposite for this recipe. The marinate was terrible and the meat was barely edible. Similar to other reviews, the combination of balsamic vinegar AND lemon made it too sour. I was hoping that the sourness would dissipate over time by sitting in the fridge and though I was right, the meat turned very sweet instead (I'm guessing from the balsamic vinegar). I will not try this recipe again and in the future I will trust my instinct and question a recipe with vinegar AND lemon combined. Risk this recipe only if you have other food to substitute.

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This recipe is very easy to make and will be on my regular rotation. I made a healthier variation by substituting ground beef with turkey, using whole wheat pasta and adding more vegetables such as zucchini, okra, bell pepper and green onions. I also sauteed the meat in garlic and onions and added cumin and a tbsp of worcestershire sauce. Very good and very tasty. Even my boyfriend liked it!

Made the recipe exactly as stated and it turned out very tasty especially when chilled. A great alternative to Pumpkin Pie. Will be making this again for Thanksgiving Dinner.

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This recipe has become a staple in my household. I've tried it with pork and chicken and both are just as tasty. When it is too cold outside to grill, I throw all of it in a saute' and serve with rice.

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Dipping pork in butter seemed like fat redundancy to me. So instead of butter, I seasoned the pork chops with garlic powder and seasoned salt, then rubbed with mustard. I then let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours before coating in the cracker crumbs. My fiance' likened the breading to Shake n' Bake which was very good for him. I used Ritz-style crackers instead of saltine because that is what I had in the house. I paired the pork chops with mashed potatoes and wilted spinach. Excellent!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
I've made these both with and without the semi-sweet chocolate chips and I prefer them without. I also used 1.5 cups of brown sugar and 1.5 cups of white sugar to give it a richer/fuller flavor. This recipe is excellent! I will never go back to box brownies again.

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
They ran out of fresh cranberries at the store, but fresh blueberries were on sale. I bought them then found this recipe. My intention was to use them as filling for corn muffins. This sauce turned out excellent for the corn muffins and as a topping on pancakes! I didn't have cornstarch on hand so I used a roux of flour and coldwater instead. I also didn't have almond extract so I left it out. Unlike the others, I didn't taste the orange juice in the mix which was perfect for me. I will definitely make this recipe again!

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This recipe has become a staple in my household. I switch between this recipe and another oatmeal chocolate chip kind on this website. I have frozen this dough as well and it comes out just as well, if not better because it is easier to handle. Enjoy!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
My fiance loves this recipe, especially on a cold rainy night. I eliminate the butter and use 1 can of cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of mushroom instead. I also add a package of frozen peas and carrots along with the biscuit dough about an hour before it is supposed to be done. It turned out excellent! Definitely a keeper.

Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This was okay initially, but the longer it sat in the fridge the better it got. Like the others, I let the sauce cook for a little bit to kill the alcohol from the sherry. I guess I didn't cook long enough because it took a while for the flavor to die. But once it did, it was very tasty. I used this as a side for Cajun-style Turducken and leftovers to fill corn muffins.
