Classic Fish and Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
I thought this was very good. I put the pieces that are done on a platter in the oven set at 200...this keeps them from getting soggy while I continue frying. I also had much batter left over to make onion rings.

Cindi's Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I'm sorry but these were not to our taste at all. I had a strange feeling about adding green pepper and should've left them out. I like peppers, but don't think they belonged here. Nobody would eat these, we had to order pizza.

Butternut Squash Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I really enjoyed these. My husband thought they were okay and my 5 year old didn't like them. I like a previous reviewer added cinammon, nutmeg and ginger and tossed them with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. I will definitely make these again.

Jewish Grandma's Best Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
This was my first time making brisket and it was awesome. It was so tender and flavorful and the gravy was so good. I can't wait to have it again. Thanks for posting.

Jif® Peanut Butter Granola

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
This is delicious! I didn't follow exactly because I didn't have peanuts or figs, and I added wheat germ and flax seed. This will be something that I keep on hand from now on. I will try as written next time. I think you can play around with this one and have amazing results.

Fourteen Carat Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
Very good. I made a few changes to make this cake a little healthier. I used white whole wheat flour, only about 1 cup of turbinado sugar and 1 cup of applesauce intsead of oil and for the remainder of oil I used butter. I left out the coconut because I don't like it. It was delicious with cream cheese frosting.

Italian Easter Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I made this for Easter and it was a big hit. It reminds me of a recipe my Italian Grandmother used to make at Easter. I left out the almonds and fruit. I will probably make this year round without the eggs. Thanks for a great recipe.

English Roast Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I liked the flavor of this. Mine was a little dry, but my roast was smaller, so I think I just overcooked it. For the gravy, I might leave out the sage and mint and just use the juices from the meat. I also just used the pot I cooked the meat in for the gravy...I just added the cold water mixed with flour to the juices. As long as the heat is off, you shouldn't get lumps. Turn the flame on after you add the liquid. I will make this one again.

Black Bean Rice Burgers

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
These were excellent. Per other viewers suggestion, I added some breadcrumbs to the mixture and they held together just fine. I was worried they may be bland but I was wrong...they were so good...and the sour cream mixed with salsa on top was delicious. I will make these often.

Pasta With Tuna Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I had my doubts about trying this, but we are trying to eat healthier, so I am expanding my horizons. This was pretty good. I followed the recipe except for the capers and even my picky husband ate it, but my five year old wouldn't. I will make it again.

Creamy Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
I loved this. I have been eating plain cucumbers like crazy, and needed a change. I used red onion because that's what I had on hand, and left out the tomatoes. I think I'll add a little dill next time, but I liked as is. It was very refreshing and I appreciate the simplicity of it.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
Followed other reviews and doubled the sauce and used 1 can of black beans and 1 can of corn. Used a whole, cut up chicken because that's what I had. Very good.

Juicy Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This was okay right away but I thought it was a soggy mess the next day. Most of it went in the trash. I won't make again. Thanks anyway.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
Very good and easy. I used olive oil instead of butter and made drop biscuits instead of rolling them out because my kitchen was already chaotic. I will make these often. Thanks for a great recipe.

Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
These were amazing. I had salmon in pouch so there was no liquid so I added a little milk with the egg. I didn't have dry mustard so I added a little dijon mustard and dipped the patties in panko bread crumbs with old bay seasoning since I didn't have that many crackers. I thought the mixture was too wet, but they cooked up fine. I cooked the onion in pam spray and also used pam to fry the patties for health reasons...amazing. I will make these often.

Easy Vegan Whole Grain Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I made with only whole wheat flour and skim milk. Like another reviewer I did cut back on the liquid. I made a double batch and cut back almost 1/4 cup of liquid. I used the cinnamon and vanilla and these were delicious. I found these when I was looking for something to make without eggs because we are all out. I saved this and it will be our standard pancake recipe. Even my five year old ate them and he is picky. Thank you for posting.

Vegan Bean Taco Filling

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Made this for a friend that doesn't eat meat and it was really good. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I did mix some of the leftovers with taco meat and it was amazing. I also like this as a dip with blue corn chips.

Eat Michigan Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Ha! Made this today for the game. The Buckeyes beat Michigan and I got rave reviews for this salad. Oh, and I just realized that I accidentally left out the apples. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. I used the spiced pecans recipe from this site for the nuts. This recipe is a keeper, thanks for sharing!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Delicious! The only change I made was to use applesauce in place of most of the oil. It is definitely better the next day.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
I didn't follow this exactly, but close. I shredded two potatoes instead of using dry and used onion powder instead of onion and no celery salt. These were very good. This recipe is a keeper.
