Now I know why New Englanders need cheddar cheese with their apple pie and crisp. This was SOOO sweet. Next time I'll put in only 1/4 cup of brown sugar, especially since the cake mix already has sugar in it. I also added 1/2 cup of oats and that helped.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

This was probably the juiciest chicken ever! I followed the directions to a T.. didn't change a thing except I had an 8 pound chicken and it took 3 hours to cook... but I'd make this again in a heartbeat!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

My kids always ask for pancakes when they're sick. It's the one food I can count on them eating. They loved these pancakes! I did add a teaspoon of vanilla, and a tiny bit more milk as others suggested, and they were perfect! Thanks so much!

Pork Steaks

The pork was tender, however it was way beyond salty even with just the soy sauce and using unsalted butter. It really needed something sweet added to it to offset the salt.

Chicken Fried Chicken

This couldn't be easier! I followed the recipe exactly until the frying part. Instead I baked at 275 for 25 minutes, and my chicken was super crispy and juicy. Even the picky kids love it! This one is a keeper for sure!

WOW! All this time I've been buying the jar stuff! This is so much better & cheaper too! I added broccoli so to hide it with the sauce.. and the kids fell for it! Thank you!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

I didn't have 2 cans of cream of chicken, so I used 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can cream of mushroom. I sauted my onions and added a tablespoon of garlic, then sauted the chicken before adding to the crockpot. I used boneless, skinless breasts, and added a can of milk in addition to the water. I also added a dash of celery seed and black pepper. WONDERFUL dish.. will be making this alot.

Norwegian Waffles

This is a fantastic recipe for those who, like me, don't have time to make the traditional belgian waffle recipe. Those recipes always call for yeast and sitting for an hour. Who has time for that?? So this morning when my twin 2 year olds were asking for "wapples" for breakfast, I mixed this up in a flash and made delicious waffles for the whole family. I have a Waring Professional waffle maker (the kind that you fill and turn) and this recipe made 4 giant waffles. Plenty enough to freeze for another day. I used the recipe exactly as written and it was perfect.

Chocolate Frosting I

This is a fantastic recipe! Very rich and super easy when you use your hand mixer. I used my kitchenaid and it came out perfect with no lumps. My husband told me to never buy the tubs of frosting again!

Simple Herb Rice

Cucumber Tomato Salad

Slow-Cooked Round Steak

This was fantastic! I used Sirloin that was too tough for steaks and sliced into 1.5 inch strips. I did add just a little water because I had more meat than called for, but it came out great! I added a tiny bit more salt as well. It was nice and tender and falling part so I served over egg noodles. This one's a keeper!
